Accessibility Comments

The developer has addressed many issues that were present in the earlier releases of version 8, but the VoiceOver support is still not as polished as it was in version 7.

For example, there are numerous places across the app where button naming could be better and where the interface layout and controls could be made more clear to VoiceOver users. Additionally, support for VoiceOver rotor actions could be more widely supported to improve the user experience.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Hi all, I have a question how do you enter credit card information into the app to be stored? I have found the part of the app for entering credit card information, but I can't work out how to actually enter the information for a card. When I get the screen up for entering card information I see a text field which I assume is so you can name the card, then I see options for card number, expiry date etc. But when I tap on these various options I am not given a way to actually enter the card information, I see options to reorder the various fields and add custom ones but can't see how to interact with options to enter ordinary card information. Thanks for any help.

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 - 02:09

Ok. I started to use the app for the first time today. How do I get past the authentication screen at the beginning after the tutorials? I enter I my master password and I get authenticating ... then nothing. The screen just says that on it. there is no way to unlock it.

I'm using ios7 if that makes a difference.

Take care.

What's New in Version 5.1
1Password 5.1 includes a number of enhancements and fixes based on your feedback.

1Password never prompts you for a review. We value your workflow too much to interrupt it. If you feel generous and have a couple of minutes, please leave
a review. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you in advance!

- The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are out. Were you one of the lucky millions who got one already? 1Password 5.1 has been updated to give you a beautiful
experience on these new devices with 3x images and improved rich icons.

- Touch ID and the PIN Code have been significantly improved. The Auto-Lock timeout will now function across both the Master Password and Touch ID/PIN
Code, removing the confusion the separate settings caused. The iOS Keychain will be used to store the Master Password when Touch ID/PIN Code is enabled,
allowing Touch ID/PIN Code to be used reliably in the 1Password Extension. Configure what works best for you in Settings->Security.

- Tag you're it. You can now add brand new tags to your items.

- Customer keyboard preference. Choose to enable or disable 3rd party custom keyboards within the Advanced Settings.

- Many fixes for the most popular issues and crashes

It's unfortunite that for me at least (see above) the fix does not fix my issue. I emailed them and thy will look in to it.

By Linda on Saturday, October 18, 2014 - 02:09

I just downloaded 1Password and read in the Guide that some IOS apps have 1Password on their login pages. Can anyone give me an example?
I am running the latest version of IOS 8 on an iPhone 5. Sometimes, but not always, Voiceover reads "1Password" when I open my mail. I can't find a button and don't understand why I am hearing this in mail which does not require a password. Any thoughts?

By KE7ZUM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 - 02:09

I think it might be auto filling in your stuff. since I cannot as of now use 1 password as it's broken under ios7 I cannot atest to this.

Take care.

By Linda on Saturday, October 18, 2014 - 02:09

I also am having a problem entering login information. The title and user name fields are blank. However, the password field automatically inserts characters before or after the passwords, such as the one I have created for AppleVis. If I swipe up and down to delete, the program quits unexpectedealy. I found edit in the roater and an edit button on the screen, and I still can't delete the extra characters in my login passwords.

Regarding credit cards,you have to open a list box for the type of card. I'm not sure how I did that, but afterward I was able to move to the text field to enter the card number. The expiration date can be every entered with a month slash year. I wish I found this app easy to use, or that someone would do a podcast for 1Password with VoiceOver that covers the topics in the Table of Contents.

I've just downloaded this app. I don't really think it could be described as fully accessible anymore. Maybe it was at one point but I'm finding problems using it anyway. The controls and text fields behave strangely. Also when I save some logins, the list of logins doesn't appear to tell me which website each one is for, I have to click in to them to get that info. Any help or advice appreciated.

By KE7ZUM on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 - 02:09

You have to name the websites. Also the tex fields do act strangely at least under is 8. They pop and don't echo back when you type at least w/ a blue tooth key board.

Thanks Marrie. Hmm, I'm still not quite getting it. There's a field called Login (which seems to be for the username), then the password, then the website (where I put the URL), and one for notes (which I left blank). Then as described above, the list of these that I've created just tell me the username and password, though I can see that the facebook one for example has a little facebook logo beside it, but VoiceOver doesn't say facebook. Am I filling in the fields wrong?

Hi!

1Password has just been updated, and there are a huge accessibility improvements in this version. I can now edit and add items to logins and secure notes. The app still crashes when I add creditcards. I've contacted their support, and mentioned this. I believe we will get another update that will fix this. I've tested with onscren keyboard, and my bluetooth keyboard, its very easy to use and navigate 1password now. Best regards Thomas

By Steve Holmes on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - 02:09

I'm trying to use 1password 5.2 for iOS by opening a website in Safari and then using the share sheet (new to iOS 8) and I can't get into any 1password functions. I have 1password enabled in the activities sheet and when I double tap 1password in the share sheet, I get prompted for the pin code; I enter the pin but all I get is another screen with 1password in the heading and a Cancel button. Nothing else appears to VoiceOver. I get this problem on an iPhone 5C and also my iPad Mini. I believe this worked for me before with an earlier version. It sure doesn't work for me now. I can use 1password the old way but I really want to be able to continue using the new app extension feature.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

By Soupy on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - 02:09

Steve, sorry if this is a dumb question, but are you on a website for which you have a 1Password login when you open the extension?

The reason I ask is that the extension works fine for me, but it will only show in the screen any logins for the current site.

What's New in Version 5.4.2

We’ve been hearing so much wonderful feedback from all of you about our new Apple Watch app; thank you for that! We’re already hard at work making improvements
based on your thoughts. This minor update to 1Password contains a number of fixes, including one for that “Fatal Database Error” that a number of you were
seeing after using 1Password on your Apple Watch.

== Improved ==
- The password text field no longer gets cleared out when editing an existing password.
- 1Password should now launch much faster.
- All the titles in the item detail view now display as lowercase.
- Error messages that may appear during Wi-Fi syncing are much improved.
- Updated with the latest internationalizations from our incredible translation team.

== Fixed ==
- Fixed a problem where you could be presented with a "Fatal Database Error" message after using 1Password for Apple Watch.
- The share sheet had some items go missing as of iOS 8.3. We found them and put them back where they belong.
- Tapping on URLs that contained # characters would result in a malformed URL being opened. This is no longer the case.
- Typing quickly in the search field will no longer overwrite your search term.
- The Message Center now keeps all messages marked as read between launches if you tap the "Mark as Read" button.
- Fixed a crash that could occur during Dropbox syncing.
- Fixed a problem where the quick unlock PIN code could not be disabled once it was enabled.
- Fixed a problem where Wi-Fi syncing would stop working and display error code 7027.
- Fixed an issue where location services were not available in 1Browser.
- Fixed a crash that could occur while switching vaults.

What's New in Version 5.5

== Staying secure in the sun ==
The days are long, the weather is warm, and in between the barbeques, pool parties, bonfires, and toasted marshmallows we’ve also put together a great
update to your favorite security app. Join us in slapping on some sunscreen while we bask in the glow of this shiny new release, just for you! Oh, and
if you’re in the southern hemisphere, consider this release a ray of sunshine to warm you.

== TL;DR ==
- You can now switch between vaults with two quick taps using our new vault switcher.
- Access Touch ID after canceling it with a handy new button on the Master Password screen.
- By popular demand, Credit Card items added to Apple Watch now include PIN codes.
- The main 1Password app and extension now share unlock settings: unlock once and you’re good to go!
- We’ve added a new and improved HTTP warning system to 1Browser, our built in web browser.

== Vault Switching ==
Accessing multiple vaults in 1Password just got a whole lot simpler! Just tap the icon in the upper left corner of the Favorites, Categories, or Organize
tabs and pick the vault you’d like to switch to. We suggest you use all the time you save to celebrate with a nice cool ice cream cone (have an extra scoop
for us!).

== Apple Watch ==
For those of you using Apple Watch to help you reach your next cookout on time, a happy day has dawned - your credit card entries will now display PIN
codes. We also improved the way Apple Watch displays text and sprayed a couple of pesky bugs trying to impede your fun in the sun.

== Touch ID ==
It can be hard to use Touch ID when your fingers are covered in sunscreen. That’ll no longer be a problem when using the 1Password app extension, which
will respect the lock timeouts you’ve set in the app. If you unlock 1Password using Touch ID, the main app will remember as long as you haven’t reached
your lock timeout the next time you launch it.

Additionally, if you tap “Cancel” when you’re asked to provide your fingerprint to unlock your vault, you’ll have the option of bringing the Touch ID prompt
back again. We call that a win!

== HTTP Warning ==
If you try to enter your username and password on an unsecured (HTTP) site when the URL you’ve saved is for a secure (HTTPS) site, 1Password will let you
know. Extra security for extra peace of mind.

We’ve also made improvements to Large Type, updated translations, and more! To view the full changelog, check out app-updates.agilebits.com.

1Password never prompts you for a review because we value your workflow too much to interrupt it. If you feel generous or have a couple of minutes between
pool parties, please leave a review. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you in advance!

What's New in Version 6.3

= The Time-Saving Edition =

Are you ready for the clocks to spring forward once again? It’ll be darker in the morning, but more light at night means more time for getting things done after work! Whether you’re looking forward to the time change or shaking your fist at it, we think you’ll be pleased with the latest release of 1Password for iOS before Daylight Saving Time strikes.

== Save time by picking which vault is shown when you launch the app ==
It might take a bit of work to adjust to the time change, but it’s easy for 1Password to adjust to your preferences! If you always want to see the same vault (or All Vaults) when you launch the app, head into Settings > Vaults > Always Open To and choose your favorite vault.

== Save even more time with faster (and better) Spotlight search ==
If you’re a Spotlight searcher, you’ll love our improvements to make it faster to find what you’re looking for. We also fixed some issues with accented characters, so if you’ve had some trouble when using more than the standard 26 English letters give it another try!

== Do more with improved VoiceOver support ==
We’ve expanded VoiceOver support to cover some of our newer UI elements, like the vault picker button and the QR codes used for 1Password for Families and Teams. Give it a listen!

You’ll also enjoy the improvements we made to sync, our translation updates, the bug fixes to prevent crashes, and more. If you’d like to see the details, check out our full changelog.

We value your workflow too much to prompt you for a review. If you feel generous or have a couple of minutes, please take some time to leave a rating and review on the App Store. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you so very much.

Hi all, I'd love to get one password to fill in the user names and passwords of the various web sites I visit with Safari.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've created just one log in entry through One Password, but I didn't let one password choose the pw. I'm not sure if this is where I went wrong or where.
I think I downloaded the Safari extention, but when I clicked on the quote "big green button', I get a page in a language other then English!
lol How... what.. Seriously thanks for any help as I'd love to get this working with my IPhone 5S. Btw, I'm running IOS 9.3.

By KE7ZUM on Monday, April 18, 2016 - 02:09

Did you turn on the extension? Did you share the page with 1password? Tell us the steps you took. Thanks.

By MikeFont on Monday, April 18, 2016 - 02:09

Nope, I didn't know I had to share the page with one password, and just how do I turn on the extension?
Dang, something tells me the one thing I always do, I didn't with one password. Read the user manual! doh!
Thanks for your help on this part.

Hello all,
Does anyone know if there are plans to allow One Password to sync with Google Drive? I prefer using Google Drive over Dropbox because I get a lot more storage for free with it. I have something like 17gigs free with my Google Drive compared to the 2gigs I get with Drop Box.

Thanks,

Hello all,
If I have 1Password Manager installed on iOS, can I share the passwords on my Mac without having to buy the app for my Mac? It gets too expensive if I have to buy the app on both platforms.
Any thoughts?

I haven't started using the app on my iPhone.

Thanks,

Hello Friends.

So glad to see that Applevis is still around, especially today.

I was hoping someone could help me with this app. I imagine it will have the same problems on the iPhone as it does on the other platforms.

I am trying to change my password on the website www.fanfiction.net. I sent a new password request and got my new password. After I got logged in, I went to the change password screen for the website. Becuse it was a temporary password, I entered that for the old password, and for the new password, I selected to use teh suggested password from 1Password. I selected that and then hit update in 1Password, and then I hit update on the website. Ever ytime I get a message stating that the passwords don't match, and I do not know what I am doing wrong or how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
