I was playing the Nebula arcade game, and I was on the screen that had a new game and menu level buttons. I played with the rotor for some reason and came across a rotor item which says "direct touch". I flicked down and got the choices "on" and "off". This was not in a text field. It doesn't look like the typing style rotor item, so I'm wondering what it is. I've tried looking in the manual and another reference book, but only direct touch typing is mentioned. Any ideas?

Direct touch
Direct touch means the gestures you perform on the touch screen are passed directly to the app, without VoiceOver interpreting them. For games, keyboard apps like MBraille, and some other apps, this is necessary to prevent VoiceOver from interfering with the app's own handling of gestures. An app must request direct touch mode to be available, and when it is, you get the option in the rotor whether or not to use it.
Direct Touch
Thanks! That's quite interesting. The game is definitely more responsive with Direct Touch switched on.
