Update, 9/27/2014: Some users are reporting some accessibility improvements in iOS 8.0.2. Check out the comments section for all the details!
Apple has just released iOS 8.0.2, an update which brings several bug fixes and feature improvements. iOS 8.0.2 comes on the heels of iOS 8.0.1, an update which broke cellular service and Touch ID for some users and which was later withdrawn from circulation by Apple. In addition to including all of the bug fixes from the iOS 8.0.1 release, iOS 8.0.2 includes a fix for the cellular and Touch ID issues some users experienced in iOS 8.0.1.
The release notes for iOS 8.0.2, via 9 to 5 Mac, list the following improvements in this update:
" • Fixes an issue in iOS 8.0.1 that impacted cellular network connectivity and Touch ID on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
• Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store
• Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode
• Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library
• Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
• Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages
• Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases
• Fixes an issue where ringtones were sometimes not restored from iCloud backups
• Fixes a bug that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari "
While there is no mention of VoiceOver improvements in the release notes for iOS 8.0.2—and while it is likely too early since the release of iOS 8 to realistically expect accessibility-specific bug fixes—please do let us know in the comments if you notice any VoiceOver changes in this new update.
iOS 8.0.2 is available over-the-air or via iTunes for all supported devices.

Accessibility!
I haven't seen any improvements yet, which I didn't expect.
However, when updating to 8.02, after install... Voice over very clearly said your device will now reboot. I don't ever remember that happening before... Nice addition!
I.O.S. 8.0.2
On my Iphone 5.s I have noticed some sinceativity changes with v.o. I seems like v.o is VERY! much more quick when I touch the screen. However, much better then I.O.S 7 where all it took for v.o was hubbering over the screen. Thanks
Yuppers, no change for a11y
Siri, Handwriting, and last row VO App moving bugs still present. Not sure about the snappiness, but VO definitely not showing some of the legginess as seen in 8.0.
no changes
App store and clearing search queries still exists.
The focus bug for me seems to
The focus bug for me seems to be gone.
For me, VO also feels a bit
For me, VO also feels a bit faster and no so much lagging anymore.
RE: The Focus Bug
With emails, I still have the problem with Voiceover focusing on the element. To get to an attachment, I still have to scroll down to the bottom of the email, find the attachment on the screen, and double tap or split tap on it.
Dial pad with touch typing
It appears that the bug with tones getting stuck on the Phone's keypad when using touch typing has been resolved. I am now unable to replicate the issue on my iPhone 6 or iPhone 5s, and the issue was very easy for me to replicate prior to the iOS 8.0.2 update.
bt keyboard bug still present, but not as bad
On my iPhone 5 the keyboard bug still seems to be presnt, but it's not as bad. I can type successfully with no issues, but if I have to delete something, I have to turn VO off, and turn it on again to fix it. Even stranger is that on my girlfriend's iPhone 5 the problem is even worse. She can type a few letters, but VoiceOver shuts down and come s back on repeatedly. So at this point, dictation is what she has to do til these issues get fixed. Will report the bugs to Apple and keep them coming that's really all we can do.
dialing bug
that dialing bug was actually fixed in IOS 8.01
Alex is more responsive than expected.
With IOS 8.0 the Alex voice could at times be a bit slow to respond. This looks to have been fixed. I don't know about Safari yet because I have not tested it. If it hasn't I will file the report.
8.0.2 let voiceover stable!
I have a 4s and the best thing this release brought is the correction that prevents voiceover to restart every time in mail, youtube and in other apps. I also noticed that they fixed the dialling stuck problem. Now I am ancious for the direct typing correction that will allow fleksy to work properly!
exelent release!
I'm very pleased at the results of this release! exelent job apple! my favorite feature is the ability to answer/take phone calls on my iPad thanks to continuity! I just recently called my sister using only my iPad and the results are extremely amazing! also, I'm running the release on my iPad mini 1st gennoration, and it is running much smoovly on my iPad mini 1st gennoration without any problems. I put my trust in apple because they always stand on accessibility for everyone. let's hope that all of the rest of the bugs will be gone sooner or later. overall, outstanding release! well done for apple!
latest iOS update
Since the latest update, VoiceOver still turns itself off and back on when loading something, but not quite as frequently. Braille display seems to be more responsive when using the advanced bar. Also, I can at least now type successfully with a bluetooth keyboard as long as quicknav is turned off, even though VoiceOver still crashes in the middle of typing. Also, I don't know whether this is a bug or not, but since updating, I have noticed if I disconnect either my braille display or bluetooth keyboard, I have to reboot my phone before the onscreen keyboard will work properly again. All of these findings are via an iPhone 4S.
IOS8.02
I still can't find a way to get back to the home screen with Vo Key H with a bluetooth keyboard. I have emailed apple's accessibility team regarding this.
Dial pad bug resolved
For me the DIAL pad bug is resolved. I have not been able to replicate it any more. A welcome relief. Also, noticed that the VO is more responsive on my iphone 5.
A possible bug
I updated to ios 8 yesterday, and iv noticed, when typing in apps such as messages, whatsapp and Twitter, VO will echo characters and words. Does anyone else get this? Although I don't get it in Safari.
Iv checked my vo settings and the typing feedback is set to words :)
Dial pad bug is still there.
Although the frequency of stucking of keys has reduced but it is still there.
Dial Pad Bug Still Exists
Unfortunately, I can confirm that the dial pad bug is still around in iOS 8.0.2. It's worth noting, though, that this release was rumored to be in testing before iOS 8 GM was available, so I'm not too surprised that there are few bug fixes for VoiceOver users.
Re: Bluetooth keyboard
To the one having problems getting back to the home screen with a Bluetooth keyboard, have you tried the workaround posted here?
http://applevis.com/forum/ios-ios-app-discussion/resolving-issue-ios-80-which-makes-bluetooth-keyboard-not-working
For me, that resolved many, but not quite all, of the broken Bluetooth keyboard issues introduced in iOS 8, including the keystroke for going to the home screen, Control-Option-H.
Hand writing fixed for me on the 5s
Darn man I seem to be the only one but, after updating from 8.0 directly to 8.0.2, hand writing magically returned and I love it. don't get it, but, there are still bugs in that I can write a text or I message using hand writing, Though I get noV/O feedback. the whole thing is baffleing but, I'll take it.
Stil lots of bugs
I upgraded yesterday and wish I hadn't: I've had the terrible dialpad bug which was dreadful. Yesterday I had the VO turning off and on in Safari which I've not been experiencing today but it's deffinitly there. That's not to mention the caller ID (I have to swipe left twice to hear it now), or the fact that if you go to change any alerts in sound settings, swiping right will give you the store button, then promptly close the dialogue, return you to home screen and you have to start in row 2 by placing your fingers near the bottom of the screen-minor but anoying.
I'm bitterly disappointed such bugs existed in the first place and eagerly await the magic update to end these woes. Everyone has done a wonderful job raising awareness of these though.
voiceover turning on and off
Voiceover turning on and off on my 4s is still a huge problem. It does it constantly, and there seems to be know pattern. The phone it self seems to be very slow too me as well since updating to 8.0, 8.02. I hope they provide a fix soon.
Voice over tunring on and off is working correctly
X319ZMNX i not have any problem in turning on and off its working fine
iPod still very slow
My iPod touch 5th generation is still very slow even after updating to ios 8.0.2
Should I or shouldn't I
Still deciding whether to upgrade from IOS 7. I'm pretty new to the iPhone. When I saw there was fixes from iOS 8, thought I might upgrade. But now maybe not. What do you all think?
iOS pulling the iOS 8
I would go ahead and upgrade.
Even though there are bugs there are also work arounds for the bugs.
For example one of the bugs is when ever you dial a ten digit number in a phone the digits stick.
In iOS 8.02 it has been fixed well for me it has been fixed.
depends on your iPod or iPhone
It honestly depends on which iPhone you have. If you have the 5C or later, go ahead and update if you wish, but if you have the 4S I've heard people say don't bother. The phone being slow isn't the ios itself, it's the processor and the amount of resources it has to use, and the older processors have a hard time keeping up with the later updates.
8.02 and Iphone 5 virtually unusable
Certainly nothing fixed for me here yet on my IOS 8.02 IPhone 5: touch tone buttons stick once in awhile. I had a timer that wouldn't shut off no matter what I did for several minutes. Can't answer or hang up the phone with a two-finger double-tap, and feeling around for the "answer" or "end call" buttons as often as not brings down the notification area. Slow/hesitating, which as others have said may be the processor. Turning off "Paralax" and background app refresh might help somewhat. Still can't use the appStore search box to find an app after once searching for one, because the "clear text" button doesn't work. As I just noted in the forums, I can't get pickers to show up on the AppStore credit card information update page, either, though I don't know if that's an IOS 8 issue. Have to now figure out what the heck this "speech bar" thing is that keeps popping up, which is liable to start a second overlapping voiceover stream going if my thumb accidentally flicks down on it. Oh, I am very unhappy with this technology right now.
Voiceover bug improvements
Hi,
I noticed interestingly that with the update to iOS 8.0.2, my key pad no longer sticks at all when I dial numbers. I don't know if that's because I upgraded to an iPhone 5S from a 4S or just because of the iOS update.
Actually a lot of people are
Actually a lot of people are still having trouble with the keyboard on the phone sticking so it is not fixed. I think it's just a coincidence.
Funnily enough
I never had problems with the phone keys sticking until I upgraded to 8.0.2. A work around I found is to hit the digit again and that will unstick it. Of course, then you have to go back and delete the second digit.
There are too many pad bags
It's awful and annoying. I can't see videos on iPad because yesterday I updating to iOS 8.0.2 yesterday and wish I hadn't ... There are still too many bugs.... I think it's better not to buy Apple, the software is getting worse and worse
