Hello to all,
I'm experiencing problems with vo on my iPad mini 1st generation. OK, yesterday, when I upgraded to iOS 8 from 7.1.2, normally, voice over restarts automatically and speech kicks in, but guess what? no speech! the only way I got speech back is resetting the device. I've even tried restoring from backup, and still no speech. I herd other sounds like the screen lock sound, but no speech at all. and iOS 8 is running slow on my iPad mini. I understand that it does support the iPad mini 1st Genoration and the iPad mini 2. I don't know if I should take it to apple and see if they will let me upgrade to either the iPad mini 2 or the iPad air, since it has a much faster processer and lode time. any suggestions. I had no problems on my iPhone 5s, as it works just fine. when I did the upgrade, vo's speech kicked in just fine. again, any suggestions are helpful. thanks!

Rolling back
I'm rolling back to 7.1.2 on my iPad. I can deal with the problems on my iPhone, but I use the iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard, and for most of the functionality not to work correctly is unacceptable.
repeating the worning
hey guys,
OK, here's the worning again. once you upgrade to iOS 8, it is no longer possible to downgrade back to a previous version of iOS. with that said, the only device I use is a Bluetooth braille display, and that is only the device I use most of the time to input braille. that being said, once apple discontinues iOS 7, you cannot go back to a previous version. I'm sticking with iOS 8, and I'm not going back what so ever.
Yes you can
I simply downloaded the previous version from Apple's web site, put my iPad Mini in DFU mode, and restored using iTunes and the local file on my local drive. You *can* roll back, it's just a pain, and you have to know what you're doing.
