With the public release of iOS 8 now just two days away, we wanted to let you all know that we have lots of information and resources ready to share with you as soon as Apple makes its new version of iOS available for download.
This will include a number of Blog posts and Guides with information on what you will find in iOS 8, along with podcast demonstrations of some new and changed features.
Some of our Editorial Team have been involved in beta testing of iOS 8, so have been able to compile a list of new accessibility bugs that we expect to see in the final version. As in past years, we would strongly recommend that you read this list so that you can make an informed decision about whether to upgrade to iOS 8 at this time. Past experience would suggest that this will be a particularly hot topic and that the list will grow as people identify additional bugs.
We also plan to host our first ever Twitter Q&A to coincide with the launch of iOS 8. Using the hashtag #AskAppleVis, you will be able to ask your questions about iOS 8. There will be two Twitter chats, one taking place from 12:00 p.m. CDT/5:00 p.m. UTC to 2:00 p.m. CDT / 7:00 p.m. UTC; and another taking place from 7:00 p.m. CDT / 12:00 a.m. UTC to 9:00 p.m. CDT / 2:00 a.m. UTC. To participate in the chat, simply tag your question #AskAppleVis and a member of our editorial team will do their best to answer it.
We're looking forward to iOS 8 finally being available, and hope that the great content we have ready for posting will help you with getting to grips with everything that is new or changed.
It's going to be extremely interesting to hear people's opinions on whether iOS 8 has been worth the hype and wait, so we will be keen to hear everybody's thoughts on this version of iOS.

My problem is that people end up posting bug reports on this website thinking that they will be resolved when it is essential that they contact Apple directly

Hi! After all the talk of IOS 8 over the last few months, I definitely look forward to finding out more about it, especially from a blind users' point of view: many thanks to everyone on the AppleVis editorial team for preparing guides and podcasts and so on which I gather will be published when IOS 8 is actually released. As I am currently the owner of an iPhone 4S, I am particularly interested to know how the new version of IOS will work on that relatively old phone: however, even if IOS 8 and the iPhone 4S don't turn out the best of friends, and even if 4Ss with IOS 8 turn out to be painfully slow or anything nasty like that, I'll still take an interest in IOS 8's new features, as it's pretty probable that I will have a newer iPhone long before IOS 9 comes out. In the meantime, the more information we can get about IOS 8, the better, so thanks again to AppleVis for providing it when the time is right.

Just want to echo everyone's thanks to the AppleVis team. We're all excitedly awaiting the release tomorrow of the new IOS and like the previous commentor, I too own an iPhone 4S. I do expect to upgrade next month. It's an exciting time, isn't it?

apple has truly come a long way
apple has truly come along way since the introduction of the mac 30 years ago, and they are totally clear when it comes to accessibility. I'm sure when everyone gets their hands on iOS 8 public release tomorrow, I'm sure a lot of folks will be surprised on the changes. of cource, the resources and podcasts that you will post following the release will help others come to know the changes and features on iOS 8. keep doing what you do!
