Hi,
I might be crazy, but I remember a supposed app a couple of years ago that used relative GPS so it could track your location even if you didn't get the best satellite coverage or there was nothing around you. You could plan a route based on landmarks in the environment around you instead of actual points of interest, so you could place a marker at the door of a building, for example. I think it was called breadcrumbs. I don't think it ever got released, but remember extensive documentation on it.
An app like this would be very useful to me now, as there is a building on my college campus that I need to locate quickly and accurately for a class change. Will blindSquare do this? I haven't taken the plunge yet and would invite suggestions.

Breadcrumbs
Hey Chelsea,
Yeah I remember that too, I think it was Looktel who had said they were working on an app like that called Breadcrumbs. I wonder what happened to that.
blind square
hmm, maybe this might be a good idea for blind square. i'll ask them.
Take a look at seeing
Take a look at seeing assistant move, it should be able to do something like this.
Breadcrumbs GPS
Breadcrumbs GPS is an app from Looktel. They never released it. Looktel has not responded to email or twitter inquiries. I'm afraid the company is dead. Who knows what will become of their money reader.
BlindSquare does but...
Hi Chelsie
personally I do use BlindSquare however this GPS needs to have data connection. Please see the suggestion from the developer
Please note: This app retrieves data in real time from Foursquare and Open Street
Map. Use of a flat rate data plan is highly recommended.
BlindSquare allows to create and save POI's.
marker door building, places and more etcetera.
Also you asked about:
GPS so it could track your location even if you didn't get the best satellite coverage
the answer is it does BlindSquare also has some feature called invisible map it means BlindSquare allows download some map area who cover around 600 Meters
.36 Miles
660 Yards
That is going to have installed in invisible way to help to better track location even with poor cellular signal.
I use allot and I can say this the best Blind GPS
this brings to mind I use when I go at the apple Store into some mall
that I do is create and save POI's put markers at some specific store and [Aisle]areas where I walk per example:
Area [aisle]D marker X at the corner of
on this way allow track the store until reach the door.
BlindSquare is completely full GPS.
if you need more info or help about it let me know
Thanks All
Hi All,
Thanks a lot. I'll definitely check out seeing assistant Move; I knew there was an app like that but couldn't remember the name of it. BlindSquare is on my short list for the next iTunes gift card.
I certainly hope Looktell is still around; I use their money reader often and it looked like they were going to release some pretty cool stuff.
