iTunes in Windows works fine, until I go to the Podcast directory. Then, it can become unresponsive. The only thing that worksfor me is patience. It often will be usable in a few minutes. Sometimes, I have no choice but to force iTunes to shut down.
I use iTunes to manage a20,000 item collection of Old Time Radio shows. I wonder if this is a part of my problem. However, my music collection has several times more items. iTunes doesn't become unresponsive unless I attempt to access podcasts.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but it did not resolve the problem.
I have my fingers crossed that iTunes 12 will be better behaved.
I do not have this problem, as I rarely use iTunes on Windows and don't use it for podcasts at all. However, if it is of any help, an update for the mac version claiming to fix issues with podcasts was released last week. So maybe either check your update software function or hope Apple gets it out to you quickly.
