Are you looking for a fully accessible, easy to use yet feature-packed, weather app? Do you use your iOS device in the United States? If so, read on for an exciting promo code giveaway opportunity!

Weather Radio by WDT is a fully accessible weather app that provides life-saving severe weather alerts for multiple locations, detailed weather forecasts, and a subscription-based lightning alerts feature. WDT has made accessibility a focus in their version 3.0 release of Weather Radio--meaning that VoiceOver users now have access to this app's incredible capabilities.

The developers of Weather Radio have very generously given the AppleVis community five promo codes for the app. (Note: This app works only in the United States, and the promo codes do not unlock a lightning alerts subscription.) If you would like to enter to possibly receive one of the promo codes, simply add a comment to this post explaining why you would like to have a copy of Weather Radio.

If you would like to have your name entered into the virtual hat a second time, simply post the following on Twitter, minus the quotation marks:

"Stay on top of the weather with the @Weather_Radio promo code giveaway! @AppleVis http://www.applevis.com/blog/competitions-ios-apps/promo-code-giveaway-weather-radio-wdt"

Important Note: If you enter a second time via Twitter, please ensure that your Twitter username is either included in your original comment or in your AppleVis profile--so we know who to attribute the entry to!

The contest will end at midnight EDT on Sunday, August 3, 2014. During the day on Sunday, August 3, a member of the AppleVis Editorial Team will tally up the entries and conduct the drawing using the Sequence Generator on Random.org. The winners will be notified via the contact form on their AppleVis profiles, and they have 24 hours to respond to our initial e-mail. If we receive no response from a winner after 24 hours, we will award the promo code to another winner. Additional rules and restrictions apply.

Alright I'm the first one to read this post! LOL anyway have always use Weather apps and I find that this one is actually quite complete. It has all the features that I would need and the lightning alert sounds interesting. I would not need it that much though because I live in California not much liking is there. Diegolicenciado is my Twitter username and I'll be posting on Twitter. Anyway good luck to all and have fun.

Really interested in giving this app a go as it appears to be far more reliable than some of the other sources/apps that I have used in the past. So hopefully I will be one of the lucky winners. My twitter user name is: @computerguy1985

I am still looking for a weather app that doesn't have annoying accessibility issues, and, has solid, reliable weather information. I have bought and deleted a few and winning a code to this app would be great. It sounds like something that I would use. daily.

I don't know if I really need this app or not, because I have Storm Shield currently. Storm Shield is based on the IMAP Weather Radio app, so presumably the new features in Weather Radio by WDT will eventually make it into Storm Shield as well. However, I don't know for sure if or when that will happen, nor do I know if all of the VoiceOver accessibility improvements will carry over.

That makes it hard for me to decide if I want to buy this app, for I don't know if I really need to over the long term, but what I have read about this app version really intrigues me, enough that I will put my name in the drawing here. If I don't win, I will probably give Storm Shield two or three months to update their app, and if they don't implement the new features of Weather Radio, I'll switch then.

I'm already digging this app. Thanks for the promo code. I can't believe how many options there are for alerts. It almost makes one wish for inclement weather.

Thank you for giving me the promo code to use this app. I just installed it and I am exploring all the different alerts it has and I like the audio it plays. I did not even know they were Marine alerts and alerts for Ashfall and a lot of other different whether things. I also like the fact that this has wind alerts and advisories for blowing dust and so on. Anyway I am enjoying And thank you for the code.
