Hello Apple geeks.
As you may already have known, iOS 7.1.2 has released today and contains bug fixes and security updates. Unfortunately, there are no VoiceOver changes and improvements for Arab users in this update. I've been facing serious issues since iOS 7.1, I could not read Arabic contents or any document that contains 2 languages in one. I have reported this to Apple several times by sending them a written email and by contacting the accessibility support line. I think we shall put more efforts and ask Apple to improve the Arabic speech and the pronunciation dictionary before iOS 8 is out for public this fall.
I highly suggest the AppleVis comunity to help us investigate this issue with Apple.

very disappointed
Based on your subject line, I was expecting to read about the changes and bug fixes inthe new firmware. I'm extremely disappointed to find out that you only pointed out that there aren't any. Although I do see the points you brought up in your article, I got nothing like what the subject line indicated.
francly expecting for changes
francly expecting for changes in an older system when the new one is about to be publicly available is not even near the reazonable. Generally the IT industry will not work this way, specially when it comes to accessibility topics that are, absolutely sutre, not a priority.
These updates usually adress security / stability issues that can not be kept around .. any other stuff will be brought in the new version.
VoiceOver Bug Fixes in IOS 7.1.2
I've been going along with IOS 7.0, not wanting to run into all of the bugs mentioned for 7.1. Does this mean there are no VoiceOver bug fixes at all, or no bug fixes to Arabic?
No VoiceOver Bug Fixes in iOS 7.1.2
Hello Deb,
Unfortunately (but not too surprisingly), there are no VoiceOver bug fixes in iOS 7.1.2. iOS 7.1.2 was a small update to address a few specific and critical issues; see this link for a list of what exactly was fixed.
Hey, if htere is an issue
Hey, if htere is an issue like this, just write to accessibility@apple.com I'm sure they will responde
No VoiceOver Bug Fixes in IOS 7.1.2
Thanks, Michael, that answers my question. I'll live with "Screen Locked, Screen Locked" a little longer--that's my only real issue right now, and there's no point in opening the door to others!
