What's in the box?

The Lumsing 11000mAh battery pack, 2 Micro USB cables, and a host of different types of ends to charge various devices. There is also a carrying pouch that comes with it, which you can use if you plan to travel a lot. The only drawback is that there is no lightning connector, but you can always plug in your lightning cable that came with your iDevice if you wish to charge it.

Description

Measuring 3.70 x 3.15 x 1.10 inches, and weighing about a half pound, this device has 5 USB ports on the front designed to charge multiple devices at once. Start by orienting the battery pack so that the micro USB port on the back, this is the only port on the back, is facing away from you and is on the right side of the device. From left to right, here are the power outputs of each port on the front. 1.3, 2.1, 1, 1, and 0.5 amps. ON the back of the unit is the on button along with the micro USB connector which you use to charge the battery itself. In order to turn the pack on when something is plugged in, simply press the round button on the back. Note that if you plan to charge a tablet, be sure you plug it in to the 2.1 amp port, so that it will actually charge it.

My thoughts and impressions:

I have been using this as my primary battery source for about a month now, and find the product works as advertized. It fits nicely in my pocket since I do not use the pouch, and also the button is concaved, so it's difficult to bump. Another advantage to those who are blind is that this battery pack does not have a flashlight. This is a major benefit, in my view, since it's means I will not risk turning the flashlight on by accident draining my battery pack unnecessarily. Charging the device takes about 8 hours, so if you plug it in before bed, and get a nice rest, your internal body batteries and this one will both be charged and ready for the day. The connectors that come with this battery pack are very nice indeed. This is because they connect to any standard micro USB cable, there is no proprietary stuff to contend with. You can use the connectors on the end of any micro USB connector, so even if you somehow damage the cables that come with it, you will still be able to use the connectors with other micro USB cords. This is something that no other manufacturer has done as far as I know. Conclusion: For the price, size, and the amount of charging I can get out of this battery pack, it's a very economical purchase. At the time of writing, Amazon has this battery pack for sale at $25.95. For those who do not wish to have a bulky battery, do not want to spend lots of money, but still want some extra juice to get through the day, this is certainly a product worth considering.
