Apple today released iOS 7.1.1, an update that brings bug fixes—including a fix for the Bluetooth keyboard issue many VoiceOver users have experienced.

According to Mac Rumors, iOS 7.1.1 contains Touch ID improvements, a fix for an issue that could impact keyboard performance--and a fix for a Bluetooth keyboard issue when VoiceOver is enabled.

iOS 7.1.1 is available via Over-the-Air update and through iTunes.

As always, if you find additional VoiceOver bug improvements, please do let us know in the comments!

I am happy to report that the bluetooth keyboard issue introduced in iOS 7.1 appears to be fixed, at least from early testing. I just installed the new update and haven't had time to play with it yet, but I made sure to test this specific issue right away. It was also nice to see that Apple made specific mention of this issue in the release notes.

Assuming there are no regressions, I think I will be really happy with this update.

good thing about the fix as I have just got my first bluetooth keyboard but a strange thing keeps happening, VoiceOver keeps reading out the entire passage of text after every key press is this normal

First time poster long time reader this is a great site.

I believe that behavior is normal, or at least I have always had it. Sometimes I like it since I can review what I typed right after finishing, but there are other times when the behavior can get a little annoying. The good thing is that you can press the Control key to shut up VoiceOver if if annoys you, though that sometimes causes the next keystroke to be silenced as well, so be wary of that.

I’ve yet to notice any myself, so I was wondering if anybody has spotted any other VO fixes in this release other than the one for bluetooth keyboards?

Personally seen the following:
I use compact voice enable and the compact voice changed a little beat, per some reason the compact voice enable sound similar to iOS7.4 or previous version.
if everyone remmember the compact voice change just to iOS7.1 for many voiceOver users is good, and for others not to good.]
it was notable personally because I have two iOS devices.
one iPad Mini who decided to wait running iOS7.4 before to update up to the current version,
and an iPhone 5S running iOS7.1
when I did the iPhone update to iOS7.1.1 the compact voice sound similar not to the 71.1 voice.
