Using 1Password with Safari

Hi all, I've read a lot of good stuff about 1Password, and it seems many VO users use it and are absolutely fine with this great app! Well, I just downloaded 1Password and gave it a go. While I think the app is very accessible, I'm having issues finding out how the Safari extension could possibly work with VO, as there's loads of unlabelled stuff and some buttons seem like they can't be clicked with VO... Is there any work around this? The main reason I got this app was for securely generating and storing web passwords so this is kind of very disappointing... Thanks a lot for any help! Robin

Hi Robin. I know how you feel. I got the app for the same reasons. You can work around this by creating a new login, opening the one password app, and then generating a secure password that way. Safari extension does indeed have problems. I have contacted the developers, and they said they are working on a fix for the next version.
Hi, thanks for the info! But how would I create a new login without the extension? Also, how do I then get 1password to log me in to websites automatically? Many thanks! Robin

You need the extension to create a new login directly from Safari. In your daily use of Safari, 1Password will ask you for your master password and if you want to create a login for the site you are on. This part is accessible. I haven't gotten the keyboard command for auto login in safari to work, but it certainly is wonderful in the actual app. In Safari, the fields just seem to be filled in for me.

Hi, I thought I'd revive this thread a bit; I upgraded months ago but have just started using 1Password 4 for Mac with the Safari extension, which works much better with VoiceOver now. I still can't figure out how to autoload credit card info, for example. I find the card I want, but there is no autofill button; just edit and an unlabeled button which I assume is cancel. The workaround I've found is to enter the main 1Password app, find the card, click edit, and then individually copy the fields. But there must be a faster way? what am I missing? Many thanks, Chelsea
