Playing a presentation in Keynote with Voiceover

Good day. If there are any keynote users I'd like to understand the following. What actually happens when a presentation is played in Keynote and how should voiceOVer react? I have a power point presentation that was given to me and I press command-option-P to play it. Now, I can go through the slides manuaaly and thought that if a presentation is playing the slides would change at a particular speed. However, voiceover seemed to stay on the same slide. I'd appreciate some guidance on this. Thanks.

Hi John. A slideshow doesn't actually progress through the slides automatically. You press either the spacebar or the right arrow to move to the next slide. It's the same in PowerPoint on the Microsoft side. This is if you have the whole slide building in one go. If you set your slides to build line by line (or object by object), then spacebar or right arrow will progress the show that way. Dave.
