Usability

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Other Comments

Two of the features of this app require social security numbers. There are 3 fields for entering the number, and you will automatically skip to the next field once a field is completed. Only the last 4 digits are visible on the screen. There is a watch button which allows for viewing of videos on the IRS Utube channel. Once you select a video, Safari will open. Double tap the HQ link and then double tap the HQ on HQ off link to watch the video.

A slight clarification is in order when viewing the videos using the watch button. If the video you want to watch appears on the list that comes up once you double tap the watch button, you will play the video as described in the app directory. If you have to double tap the more button, you will find and play the videos as demonstrated on the podcast.

I just pulled up my refund status with the app but the amount was not seen by VO. In my personal situation, the refund had to be reduced due to some prior issues. The app did tell me that info but after the word "Amount:", I could not flick any further. I also a week or so ago, I tried to pull up information from a prior year's return and the operation was successful but VO did not speak any of the detailed information I was seeking. So I did not find this app to be as useful as I would have expected.

Steve, this is unfortunate, and thanks for your comment. At the time I tested the app, I couldn't carry it through to a result as I didn't have a refund. I will follow through this year and report my findings.
