Hi there, I am having trouble entering text fields on my MacBook Pro. It will say I have interacted with it but won't let me enter text.. I have also had trouble entering text in a document on text edit. It will not let me enter text where the voice over cursor is and enters text att another random place or at the beginning of the document. I have checked my voice over setttings and the insertion point is allined with the voice over cursor and vice versa. I am not sure what to try next. Any advice would be much appreciated. Also, I have not updated to Mavericks Thanks so much, Ali

Is Quick Nav on? To toggle it on or off, press the left and right arrows together. It must be off for text entry to work properly.

On that same note, is the quick key lock on? Hit vo semicolon to turn that feature on and off.

VO Key lock should always be off, unless you have a specific reason to leave it on. I've used a Mac for two years, and the only time I have had the lock enabled was when I was experimenting with the feature. When it is enabled, every key you press has the VO keys added to it. So, instead of typing an A, your pressing of the A key actually issues VO-a, or "read all". I hope this makes sense.

I have tried both of the above and it is still not working properly. Any other suggestions?

I reset all of my voiceover preferences and that fixed the problem.
