a bit of trouble with pages.

Hello. using the new pages app for osx, I notice that I cannot select a paragraph that spans multiple pages. it will unselect what I just selected. I tried looking at the help but even triple clicking the paragraph with voice over or the mouse does not work.

This bug is also present if I want to select let's say 2 pages to change formatting all at once. I have found no work around for this and want to know of someone else has. I am going nuts and panicking as I want my stuff to be perfect, plus it's due in a month. heha.

Take care and thanks.

Sorry maybe I don't understand what your trying to do, but you can select the whole document, as many pages as it has, with select a. Will that do what you want or do you want to do something with some pages but not all of them?

These things I'm working on have multiple headings so selecting all is not what I want to do. The extended quotes sometimes start on 1 page and end on another so again selecting all is not what I want to do as I don't want my whole essay to look like an extended quote.

The folks on my twitter tl, some of them have reported they have the same issue, those that use pages anyway. so it looks like this might or might not be a bug in the latest version of osx pages. This should not be though and I did not as I staged see any mention of this in apple reviews.

Take care to all

I have the same problem, and haven't found how to solve it.

Well tha tmakes me feel better, sort of. lol! Anyway, I hope we can get this solved as I really want my papers to come out good. I'm not going to spend anymore money on anymore editors. Scrivner seems good but way way way too much power for what I'mm going to be doing gfor the next 3 or 4 years. Plus I want to learn how to format my stuff by hand in case I have to tell someone how to do it.

I'm having the same problem, and the select all command doesn't work, even if that's what I want to do. Thanks to all who can offer help.

Well, I got a reply from accessibility team at apple and their reply was as always, we'll forward this to the appropriate department. Can those of you having the problem also contact apple accessibility with this issue and maybe we can get a minor update pushed out, or at least get it agnologed it will be fixed?

I definitely notice what you are talking about. I had a hard time editing a paper I wrote a week ago because I wanted to remove text that was going from one page to the next. I also was having a hard time highlighting definitions I wanted to upload to make flash cards with. I have not thought of a reasonable solution except to figure out where the page break is, highlight and edit what you want before the page break and then highlight what you want just below the page break and edit that (you have to edit the two parts separately because when going over the page break something messes up). For me VoiceOver says it unhighlights the text when I try going to the next page. It is annoying and I hope that Apple can fix this. I will send in an email too if I get a chance.

Actually send them the email and then call the hotline. it does unhighlight but I hear people can do this successfully with a mouse. I'm not sure why apple overlooked this nasty bug when releasing pages, or if there were any VI beta testers why they never reported it.

Take care and be blessed.
