If you are jailbroaken you can get pwn tunes. If you are not jailbroaken, the only way to transfer music is with iTunes. That's one of the reasons I jailbreak. Apple makes it so hard to get files off and on devices without jailbreaking.

You should try a Free piece of Software "SharePod" available from www.sharepod.com - This allows you to move files between I Devices etc in the same way as Windows Explorer. Plug in your I Device, Open SharePod and you can explore the folders on your I Device. No need to Jail Break I Device.

Shair pod is not free. My dad has it and he had to pay for it.

There is a free version, but it will only process a small number of songs, then you have to buy it.

Hello there, Sorry to hear that your iTunes is not working for you on your computer. I hope you will be able to get that fixed soon. I understand the fusturation that you are having. Remember if you have purchased your songs from Apple. You can always retrieve them by going in to your Music app on your device. There is no need for iTunes and you can simply download your music straight from the store instead. However, if those music were purchased elsewhere. Then that will be problematic. As one have mentioned above a 3rd party solution is an option. Although, I think you are better off in seeing if you can't get the iTunes back up and running. Sometimes uninstalling the iTunes and reinstalling it again will then help out with the problem. I think the best option is to ask a friend to download the latest iTunes for you. Perhaps, put it on a thumb drive and installing it from there. Lastly, as one has mentioned as well is the option to jail break. Now I will warn people of this approach. There are things you must know and should research before doing so. Jail breaking can be really fun. There are certainly some really cool tools and such to make your device run the way you would like. However, there are some serious downside of doing so. The first is that this will void your warranty with Apple. So if your device ever goes down or does weird things. Taking that device back to the store will only leave you with more headaches. They will simply not help you. The other is that you run the risk of vulnerbilities. You will step outside of the Apple protection of their sandbox. So you will run the risk of malicious results from certain apps without your knowledge. The last part is that if and when Apple release a newer version of the iOS. You are never guarantee that you will be able to use it because Apple is continously patching up those holes that allow the jail break to work. So if an update comes out tomorrow. You will most likely be stuck with the older version. I would highly recommend the jail breaking be left for the experienced users and they use this on devices that are no longer under warranties. Sorry I coudn't be more of a help.

Hi, Try Copy trans manager. it's free. It works well with screen readers. The only thing you have to do is press alt+tab to minimize and then again maximize the app. you should be well to go with the application. When you focus to the app, if you are using JAWS, then it should say something like "1: Iphone 4s" (whichever phone you are using). then hit the application key and select "add" option. Once you finish adding songs/ videos, press the OK button.

How about iTools iExplorer and iPhone x drive?

I realise this thread is old, but I've been trying some of these tools lately because some relatives want ringtones and iTunes pretty much forces you to erase and re-sync.

Not exactly good, when said people have absolutely no idea what they're doing.

Let's start with iTools, that program is portable, but good luck getting it to run.

I keep receiving an error message saying I need the latest version of iTunes and it not being able to find the library.

iPhone X Drive, for me at least, wouldn't install.

The installer kept crashing.

The only one to track down now is iexplorer.

Even if I did find a program that works, what are the chances of it being accessible?

Copytrans manager with NVDA is a pain, too much tabbing around.

There's also free phone manager, which is totally inaccessible.

iTunes is OK, but when you've got family from interstate that only want a ringtone and aren't tech savvy your options are limited.

I've yet to try airdrop to transfer the ringtones from my phone to there's, but I have a feeling that won't work.

Hello nice people who suggested SharePod for copying music from the computer to i-devices. I just searched for SharePod in the appstore but I couldn't find any. So I was wondering whether this software is for windows? Could you please tell me more about it? If this is not allowed to discuss here, Kindly send me the details to my personal email: shooshma@gmail.com

Thank you in advance.

Raaj.

I was searching for that and I found it is 20$. And I-explorer is 35$. Which one is accessible with jaws?

The subject line says it all. It's not really all that hard to do, especially for the price. Free.

For me, iTunes isn't a problem, I'm trying to send someone a ringtone and they're from interstate.

Not to mention they don't understand that you can't simply transfer ringtones like you can with android.

If I were to try and do it using my iTunes, it would erase their phone and resync with my settings.

something I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want.

If you could transfer them manually like you can with music, no problem, but sadly, you can't.

All the iTunes alternatives I found don't appear to be all that accessible, and I'm not paying for something I'll hardly use when I can use iTunes for personal use, just not when friends or family ask for a simple thing like a ringtone.

I am reasonably tech savvy, and I know Jaws well, but I have a heck of a time working with iTunes. I hardly ever get it to do what I actually want, even something that should be simple, like moving music on or off my device. Nor have I found any tutorial to be very helpful. For me, iTunes is such a nightmare, I just stopped using it altogether. I'll look into one of the alternatives suggested. Even $20 is better than the total aggravation of iTunes.
If anyone knows some way to learn the miserable thing, let me know, without sneering, please.
