Removing a passcode and starting without a passcode

I have yet to move to iOs 7 on my iPhone 4 and also have just been given a 2nd gen iPad that was set up with a passcode because the person who set it up for me did not know it was possible to not have one. So, I need to know both how to make sure the iPhone does not have a psscode when I update it and how to remove the passcode from the iPad. I know some like the extra security, but I don't want to have to deal with entering in a code each and every time I unlock my devices. Thanks, Chris

to remove the pass code simply go to settings, general, pass code, enter it, then turn it off.

As long as you don't set a passcode on yrou phone you should be fine. I have a pass code on mine and I have it set to activate after an hour of it being locked.

Take care.¬

Thanks much. I now have the passcode removed from my iPad and will be sure to not input one when I do my phone update. Thanks again, Chris

First go to settings general passcode lock then choose turn passcode off.

Thanks for this information. For whatever reason these steps don't seem to be working on my sister's MBA, but perhaps I'll give it another go when I'm at the folks' house this coming weekend. Or perhaps her tutor might have a look as well.

Hi Jake if for some reason it didn't work is because running different iOS version and turning off the passcode sometimes you need to turn off the device and it will be work. I think this small detail occur running iOS 6. I don't know about iOS 5 or the newer iOS7 but very sure that shuting down and turning on will fix it. http://www.applevis.com/forum/general-chat/turning-passcode-iphone-4s
