Renaming Tracks in My iTunes Library

So, I have an iPod full of songs called track 1 or track 04 or converted bcdfm498216y and I am not very good at using my pc. So what I am having to do right now is to use shazam on every song, then manually type in each song name, then import the folder of renamed songs to iTunes and sync my iPod to get the properly named songs on my iPod. Then I have to go through and remove all the miss named ones. Then I have to sync it again so I do not have 2 coppies of the same song, one properly named and one not properly named. This is taking me for ever. So I want to know if there is an iOS app or combination of apps that will scan all the music on my iPod and auto edit and fix missing id3 tags and missing song names and band names. I am very good at using iOS, but windows not so much. My iPod is jailbroaken so I am open to ideas that come from the app store or from Cydia. I am on iOS 7.0.4. Thank you.

auto shazam

Have you tried auto shazam it is a auto raging feature in the shazam app.

Yes I tried that but I still have to type every song name in one at a time and that is the part that is taking a long time and that I want to get rid of.

I feel your pain, because iTunes has made my music a mess, but not quite as bad as yours. Unfortunately, I think that renaming your tracks manually may be your only option, especially if they don't have any tags. You could try importing the files into iTunes, right clicking an album, and clicking Get Track Names, but that will likely not work since it hasn't ever worked for me. You can try Get Info, which will allow you to edit the tags for a song, album, or artist, but if you're using JAWS, you'll need to use the left and right arrow keys to go through the tabs instead of shift+tab or control+shift+tab (I don't know how that works with other screen readers.) You're better off using iTunes to rename your songs as it will automaticly change the file name, and folder if you have organize iTunes folder on, and it won't make duplicate copies.

Jessica, As others have already mentioned. We hear your pain. Having MP3 from alternative sources can be problematic. If they do not have the correct ID3 tags with those songs. iTunes will fail to show the information correctly. Plus, in having iTunes try to correctly identify those songs to obtain album artist and such will simply not work. As I hate to say. The above comment is correct. You really are left with doing a Get Info and each and everysong that you want to redo. This will then let you fill in the ID tag that you want to set up for that song. However, there are some Music ID Tagger programs out there that will help you in making your life a bit simplier. Although they are limited in what they can do. If your files are with an artist and the name of the song. You could find a batch file program that can extract those information and insert the correct ID Tag to those songs. This would be the quickest option you have. There are also third party software that I have seen that will even go further than this. They will even take your file and do an audio analyzer compare it with their database. It will then put everything in to all of the ID Tag fields for you on the fly. However, those are paid services and are generally at around $30-40 for the software. On top of that. It is not accessible. Lastly, if those songs are from your personal collection that you got from you CDs. You can always rip them again and this making sure you use iTunes to rip those CDs. This will correctly ID tag all of your songs. It will even place the album art on the songs and fill in everything on the fly. HTH
