Hello everyone,
First and foremost, I would like to note that in no way is this attacking Apple directly. It is a dislike of the app itself, not the company as a whole. While my frustration with their decisions are on a frequent basis, this is asking for assistance with productivity alternatives, not to rebel against Apple.
Anyways, with that aside, continuing on.
Over these past few years, I have grown tired of the default Mail app on iOS. From constant layout changes, to messages refusing to load at times, to not being able to reach attachments easily, and other quirks that would take time to explain, I think it's time to consider alternatives.
I think my patience thinned the most 2 weeks ago, when I learned that Mail refused (and still refuses) to log me into my student account, always returning an error, meanwhile Outlook does it just fine.
i'm not a huge fan of Outlook either, but my college is glued to Microsoft 365, so Outlook is the easiest link in the chain. Plus, I need it to sign in and authenticate myself. But I digress.
The main question is this. What go-to mail clients do you guys use?
If it's the default Mail app, that's okay. Everyone has their own preferences, and I will not regard you any differently just because you use something I'm struggling with.
However, I am interested to hear about other clients too.
Thanks.

Outlook
My go to email client on my iPhone used to be Outlook. I just liked it, and it was the email client I had to use on my work iPhone. Once I got a MacBook Neo, I switched back to the native email client. I just decided to give the whole Apple ecosystem more of a try.
Possibly Blocked By Your Institution?
Hi Tunmi,
The only two apps I have ever seriously tried for email are the default Mail app and Outlook for iOS. The only reason I used Outlook was because the organization I worked at at the time did not allow email login from anything other than the Outlook apps for security. I wonder if that is what you have going on with your college?
Unfortunately we're limitted
Unfortunately we're limited on email clients that are completely VoiceOver accessible. We've got Apple Mail, Outlook, and Gmail. Other alternatives like Spark Email and Superhuman aren't accessible. Thunderbird for iOS is in the works, though apparently.
I use native mail app
I use the native Mail app. I tried to use the Outlook app at my school because they thought I might need it and I was literally not able to do anything with it and I don’t know if it’s just because I didn’t know how to navigate it or what but I got absolutely no trying to figure it out. It turns out that at my school I didn’t end up needing to use Outlook anyway so I just went right back to the native mail app. Good luck and hopefully you find something that works well for you. I have not tried the Gmail app yet. I may do that, but I don’t know. I like the native mail app so far so we’ll see. Hopefully, I can keep it that way.
just tryed on my mac,
My school stuff is through education Queensland. I tried logging in with my username and password and email address on the Apple Mail app and it worked just fine. Granted I'm using a MacBook. What's the error that it gives you?
Re: I use native mail app
Like apple will say, you're using it wrong. Joke aside, personally I use the native app for that specific service. On ios, all my ms accounts are with outlook personal and school. Gmail has 2, mail has icloud only. On mac, I've dumped everything in mail and couldn't smile more. Same goes for calendar and other. My phone has like 130 apps and I just use 5 regularly. Hey gotta justify my 128gb in the rampocalips!
But outlook is very accessible
Way better than the web client.
Gmail and Outlook
Outlook for my work account and that is in fact my only choice since my employer blocks all other clients/apps.
On my personal email account I prefer Gmail.
The Gmail app works nicely with VO and my gmail account.
I prefer Gmail to Outlook, so I wish I could use Gmail for my work account as well.
but na.
most of the time i use outlook ngl. on my mac. only time i use apple mail is for my icloud, but i can't be arssed trying to make an app password to put my icloud on my outlook or viceverser
Outlook and lumin
I use Outlook as my gooey client but more and more I am using Loomen to do my daily driving, covers two email accounts very well and is great for drafting emails specially replies, well worth listening to. Works well as combination.
