Apple Beta Releases

Just to let everyone know of 2 things.
1. The RC version is out for the 27.2 updates in general.
2. iOS still has the bug where audio is choppy when playing media and using voiceover with wired earphones, voiceover is still clipping and cutting out things, I've submitted multiple feedback to Apple on it, we can only hope it gets fixed at least sometime soon

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

I just wanted to report that with iOS 27.0.1 on both my iPhone 15 and iPhone SE 2022. I am not having any issues with VoiceOver speech getting chopping either through the internal speakers or the wired Apple EarPods. That’s not to say that this is an issue is not carrying obviously. I’m sorry that it is for those who are experiencing it. The only one I really wish would be solved and I know it’s not yet because I was already told is that we lose speech on a YouTube video while watching on Safari. I already know that that way she won’t be fixed yet. All I can do is hope that they will soon. I reported the issue to Apple already and then they just told me that there was already already a report about it and to download the YouTube app not very helpful quite dismissive to be Frank.

When I went to install the update, my phone kept telling me that my software was up-to-date. The only way I could trigger the update was to completely disable the betas and then turn them back on, and then I was able to update. I am just commenting on this here. in case anyone else has trouble getting the software update.

Hi! I've got 3 questions which I'm hoping someone using iOS 27.2 can answer. I'll ask them in the order of importance.

Question 1: Is VO still saying something along the lines of "unspeakable Korean text unspeakable" on discord or any other apps? I thought this was something I could fix in verbosity, but that is definitely not the case. I notice it mostly in discord, but it's pretty much a constant in another app I use which is currently in beta.
Question 2: Does anyone know if iOS 27.2 will allow me to go back to using the Wordvoyance app as opposed to the web site?

Question 3: When entering my passcode, is VO still saying the letters associated with each number? For example: 7 PQRS?

I've just been dealing withese issues for now, but if there's still no hope of any of them getting fixed, then I fully intend to contact Apple Accessibility, especially if this issue is still going on, but figured I'd ask here first. Thanks for any answers you may be able to provide.

I only see this in my iPad 9 with the beta. I will update to the RC and see. No issues on my 16 pro max.

By Rocker on Monday, October 19, 2026 - 20:44

iPhone 17, 27.2 RC there is no alphanumeric feedback using voiceover when entering your passcode. It's too early to comment regarding voiceover bugs, but that one is for sure. At least on my handset for now Miss Missy.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, October 19, 2026 - 20:58

This is in the recent beta 3. 16 pro max. If I press side button, Siri talks and tells you what is she doing. Sometimes VO does it. This was not an issue on iOS 27.2 beta 1. For me started on beta 2 and 3. Hope the RC will fix it.

Yes, this seems to be something that comes up when checking for software updates. It can cache The message that your software is up to date in memory, and for some reason will then just display that. I’ve seen it and had it today as well trying to get The update. The other thing that worked for me, was to close and open settings again, go into software update and rapidly refresh it like 2 or 3 times. It then found The update basically instantly

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, October 19, 2026 - 23:20

When I did a restart after the RC, VO said it. Instead of saying weather gods and voice record it say it when I slide to each.

I have noticed with in the betas a very anoying trend with siri ai, when trying to send itext messages, or get siri to open apps siri ai fails in this i talked to apple accessibility and told them about thi9s I am going to follow up when the iso 27.2 full release is out the only thing i can say is if you are having trouble with siri ai getting things done try and revert back to siri classic. I need to know what models of iphone/ipad are havint this trouble to report this to apple.

I'm on 27.2 beta and no issue with this.

By Curtis Chong on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 02:41

In the iOS 27 system, when a Bluetooth speaker is connected, VoiceOver now speaks through the speaker and not on the iPhone. I think this is a bug. Is there a way to work around this problem that anybody has found?

Use the rotor to get to audio destination and swipe down once. or swipe until VO goes back to coming out of the phone.

By Singer Girl on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 07:56

So what is the general cycle? If the RC for 27.2 is out yesterday does that mean that the final release would be next week Monday? Not sure how the psycho generally works. I mean, I know we can only go off of like previous Apple history just curious. Also I guess I should say I really don’t have any issues with the voiceovers voice profile sound at all. The audio is perfectly OK with Voice speech on both my devices with the internal speakers in the wired earphones. I use the Apple wired EarPods for both of my devices.

By Lee on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 08:39

So not sure when this started but have just noticed in 27.2 at least if not before when you press and hold the side button to bring up Siri not only do I get a sound but suddenly VO is saying the word Siri which is off putting.

By Singer Girl on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 09:59

Yes, I think somebody may have mentioned this either earlier this thread or on the blog post for the iOS 27 summary of bugs. Yeah that’s very weird. I haven’t seen that in 27.0.1 but that’s good to know that it could be a possible issue. Do you have your show speech from Siri captions turned on cause that could be what might be causing that. I mean, I have that turned on because I like to have voiceover read what reads but yeah I’m just thinking that that’s possibly like one of the reasons it could be happening so maybe you can toggle the setting off and then put it back on and see if that fixes the issue just an idea hope it helps

By Singer Girl on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 11:33

Sorry, I wasn’t sure where to put this. Just wanted to say the eloquence sounds much better than iOS 27. The volume of the voices is a lot closer to the rest of the synthesizer that we can choose from voiceover. I still wouldn’t be able to make it my full-time Voice but it’s definitely much better. The only Voice they really need to fix now is Sandy. It’s really scratchy and muffled up. The volume is better though so that’s not the issue. It’s something to do with the way that it poured over. The only way to fix it right now is to select Sandy and then to bring the breathing zero and you get somewhat of what you might get with using that Voice in Jaws which your name is Bobby this is the same for the American and British variant. You can move this if it’s not in the right spot. Couldn’t find the blog post iOS 27 in it. Just wanted to say that it’s better.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 13:30

It should come out next week. If Apple likes me they will fix the VO and Siri bug but because they do not it will not. A RC 2 might come out this week again.

By Earle on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 13:51

I know that we all use our phones differently, but I really don’t think VoiceOver speaking when Siri is activated is a problem. It’s been happening for me since the last beta, and it has never interfered with what I’ve wanted Siri to do. Siri still works as expected. While I’m not saying it shouldn’t be fixed, I don’t think it’s a major issue. Maybe it’s just me, though.

By JohnyTheHess on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 14:18

I actually use this on the apple watch and have turned off the siri voice. I just can't get it fast enough on the watch and since Siri speaks on the screen that has worked well.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - 14:24

Agree. watch 11 and using the RC. Siri takes forever, I could go get a soda and still waiting for it. Will see what happen with the beta of iOS 27.3.

First I'm hearing that we're beyond 27.0. Will it be "safe" to update when 27.2 is released? The main bug I'm worried about from the blog post list is...all of them. And, does this wired headphones bug impact external DACs? If so, I'm out.

Thank you very much for your response! Even though that's the least serious of the three issues I'm concerned about, I really appreciate knowing that it will be one less minor annoyance to deal with.

same issue on mack-OS 27.2, it doesn't work, even when i wona open up an app or tern on somnething like voiceover, tbf it's on my school network half the time but

By peter on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 - 03:25

I wonder if anyone else is seeing this issue. I haven't noticed it in any of the previous iOS 27 beta builds.

When reading some articles, if I set the rotor to navigate by words, I swipe down and sometimes hear the next word. The second and third swipe downs to get to the ntext word has Voiceover saying "trash" and "activate". What's with that?

Just wondering if others have seen issues when navigating by words in news articles.

I am already feeling disappointed with the various voice-related bugs that have appeared in VoiceOver on iOS 27. Even with the release of 27.2, there is no sign of these issues being fixed. However, there is some good news: many independent developers have started trying to create VoiceOver voice assistants. By utilizing VoiceOver's voice interface, they are developing small tools that allow VoiceOver to bypass its original reading rules and implement a new set of rules instead. Currently, I have found this approach to be much more efficient than waiting for the VoiceOver development team to fix the problems, and the results seem quite promising.
