Braille Screen input calibration on iOS 27

Before, on iOS 26 doing the dots 4 5 6 then 1 2 3 quickly will calibrate BSI, but now, when I got a new phone on 27 and set it up as new, doing that gesture no longer seams to calibrate the dots. Does anyone have an idea what setting I can turn on to get this behavior back? Because on another phone I just upgraded to 27 this still works, making me believe this is somehow a thing they disabled on default.

I used to be able to swipe up or down with a finger and get word suggestions. As a somewhat bad speller or frequent typo maker as braille would decide to recalabrate randomly, that was useful. Is it actually broken or am I just stupid? I'd say both are equally possble.

Hi Johann,

I certainly empathize with the frustration (and feel the same way about the older calibration method working better). That said, while AppleVis does allow mild profanity in user-submitted content when used sparingly for emphasis or expression, profanity that is strong; sexualized; graphic; or hate-based in nature is not permitted. The "f-bomb" certainly falls into the prohibited category. If you haven't already done so, please be sure to review our updated community agreement launched earlier this month.

Thanks,

Michael

Do you also need to have auto correct on in keyboard settings for it to work? You didn't used to, but now even with the braille screen input auto correct toggled on, I get nothing when I swipe up or down. In message fields though, such as texting or whatsapp, I get emojis which is rather odd.
