Mac compatible image readers

Aloha, I need to find a portable hd magnification/camera, ideally in hd, on a stand that uses a separate monitor (macbook pro or iMac). Distance application of camera is optional, as is OCR. OCR would be greatly helpful. Mahalo for your assistance.

There is a great portable camera from ABISEE, it's called EyePal. It's used to scan printed materials, documents, books and more. It is designed to help blind people.
