BSI And Screen Protectors

I’m wondering how people are handling using Braille Screen Input with a screen protector?

I recently installed one on my iPhone 18 Pro Max, and I'm having trouble with it detecting all of my dots. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a screen protector that works better for Braille Screen Input?

Also, did you have any issues with bubbles during installation? I cleaned my screen completely beforehand, but still ended up with bubbles underneath. I think they are finally out, but the input recognition remains a concern.

I prefer to use matte glass screen protectors because I find they don't get as dirty. Having said that, there are times where I encounter the same experience you have. I think the BSI experience was better with clear glass screen protectors but I couldn't stand my screen feeling dirty, so I just put up with intermittently sluggish BSI.

I upgraded to an 18 Pro and am experiencing BSI glitches, but not due to a screen reader. I got a Zagg screen protector which has installation assistance, so no bubbles. It's not matte or anything special, but IMO it doesn't contribute to any problems. The glitches are likely due to software. iOS 27 is quite unstable from my experience, especially compared to my iPhone 13 Mini on iOS 26.
