Weather Gods 4.9.8 is out, and a fair bit of it was built with VoiceOver in mind.
Over 100 new ambient sounds. They follow your place, the season and the time of day, so the weather sounds a bit more like the world outside your window. In Europe, for example, church bells ring on the hour from 8 in the morning until 8 at night, Monday through Saturday. On Sunday morning the cathedral bells take over, from 9 until noon.
Lightning on radar. The rainfall map now shows recent lightning, and VoiceOver tells you how many strikes are nearby. That covers the Americas, the Atlantic and the eastern Pacific for about the last 30 minutes.
Rainfall radar widgets. Small, medium and large Home Screen widgets refresh about every 8 minutes, and VoiceOver includes the nearest storm, so you can check what's coming without opening the app.
Bulletin on Apple Watch. The next few hours are in a list you can swipe through hour by hour, and you can open any hour for the extra readings you've switched on.
Five-hour complication. A new watch-face complication covers conditions, temperature, rain chance, wind and humidity, and VoiceOver reads every reading for the hour.
There are some significant internal changes arriving with the next update as a lot is changing to support the foldable phone (duo) and Apple has many changes in the SDK.

Ah, you would need to load a European location Holger. I see no reason why we cant make it an option in the next update though - leave it with me.

Agree. Recall in South America did the same, not sure now. Like hearing bells in the morning and cats.
My Weather Favourite
I continue to be amazed and happy with all this app can do.
I use a widget on my watch face for quick looks at the current weather.
I have a detailed widget on my phone's home screen that shows very detailed current weather information. I have a large widget on my Today Screen that gives me details for today, and the next few days.
I don't have to open the app often, but when I do, I can see so much detail about the weather where I am and any locations i care about. I know when family is in line for nasty weather, and can check The AI forcast is a nice way to get all the details in prose instead of looking at the details, though that option works great.
I like the storm and lightning alerts. I know I need to run my dog out for a break before the next round of rain is coming.
I was way off grid a week ago and used satellite conectivity for weather. I had to use the iPhone weather app. It worked, and it was okay, but I sure missed everything about WG.

I put a conplication on my watch 11. Same with the lock screen. Plus the notification I have setup.

I love how the weather sounds change with the time of tday. Its so cool. Long time wg user for years. Keep up the great work!

Can somebody tell me where to go in wg to add widgets to my phone's home screen and how to do it? Thanks, I'm a voiceover user.

this update sounds quite interesting. as a beta tester, will I get it? when will it be compatible with my m 5 macbook pro? I remember you said an apple silicon version is in the works, but in Testflight it shows as incompatible .

I just checked on my M1 Mac and installed the latest update, however, I only have the M1 so dont know about the M5. It should work.
