Is it possible to copy the sounds from the Alarmed app into my ringtones? There are a lot of cool sounds in Alarmed which I like a whole lot better than the stock ring and alert tones. Thanks.

In general, the previous comment is correct. However, things like this are generally only possible on jailbroken devices using some type of filesystem access, such as an app from Cydia called iFile, which allows for copying files to different places on the filesystem, similar to Windows Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac.

As a follow up to my previous comment, I should point out that jailbreaking is not for everyone. That said, if you are interested in jailbreaking in order to copy the sounds, it's a good idea to look into it carefully first.

There is a jailbreak tweak that makes this quite easy to accomplish. It's called AudioExplorer+ and it's available from cydia 's big boss repo for $1.99. It is compatible with iOS 4–7. Hope this helps. :-)
I was really hoping that I could do it without jailbreaking my iPhone since jailbreaking violates Apple's terms of use. If I could get the files from my iPhone to my computer somehow, then the rest would be easy, because all I would have to do is to convert them to M4A if they're not M4A already, rename the M4A file with an M4R extention, then import into iTunes and sync.

Hi. I am jailbroaken and I have the alarmed app. I like the sounds in alarmed as well. I have been meaning to get them off my device, but just have not had time. This gives me a reason to get it done. I will get the sound files from the app and zip them into one file and post a dropbox link here by tonight or tomorrow. Then you can put them in iTunes on your computer. I have not looked at the files yet, so I do not know what format they are in but you already said you know how to convert if you have to so that is ok.

Just to remind everybody that although it is possible to access specific files in an app, extracting those files for use elsewhere would in most cases be either a copyright violation or breach the terms of the license which protects the use and distribution of the app. So, I would respectfully ask that this discussion now be closed.
