Cyphr City

Description of App

The city runs on cards. Time to make your name. Cyphr City is a cyberpunk card RPG where poker is combat and the whole city is up for grabs. Play cards onto a 5Γ—5 board, build poker hands β€” pairs, straights, flushes, full houses, and the rare royal flush β€” and turn every hand into damage. Both hands are face-up, so every card is a chess move: read the board, block their line, and drop the 5th card to steal a hand right out from under them. You're The Cyphr, a street-level hustler who reads the board like no one else. Climb 35 floors across five districts β€” from The Block to the corporate tables to a rooftop run by The Architect. Twenty rivals stand between you and the top, and you fight each one exactly once. Beaten is beaten. POKER IS THE COMBAT Not a card game with an RPG skin β€” the poker is the fight. Sure, the deck runs on luck. But luck deals the cards; skill runs the city. Reading the board, blocking a line, and knowing when to spend a Trick is what sets the players apart from the marks. EVERY BOSS PLAYS BY HIS OWN RULES Five district bosses, five broken rules. One kills your diagonals. One won't let a hand score twice in a row. One makes your first card touch his. The rule is announced before the fight β€” no ambush β€” but knowing it and beating it are different games. Twenty floors of instinct, undone in one hand. BUILD YOUR REP Take floors to earn REP and hit harder every level. Spend CRED on weapons, shields, and HP β€” from a Gold Chain to a Neon Katana. Swap your loadout anywhere on the climb, so what you carry into a fight is always your call. RUN YOUR TRICKS Carry up to three street Tricks and swing a fight when it counts β€” Pick Pocket the exact card you want out of their hand, Run It Back for a second turn, drop a Loaded Deck before a boss, or Sweep The Block clean. CRACK THE SAFE Every district hides a stash. Take the CRED and walk, or crack it at the blackjack table β€” hit, stand, double or nothing. Naturals pay 3:2. The lock still works; your nerve is the question. TAKE THE CLIMB - 35 floors, 20 rivals, 5 neon districts β€” each rival fought once - Whoever completes a line owns it β€” position and timing decide fights - Five boss fights that rewrite the board's rules - Deep progression: REP, 10 weapons, 9 shields, and 15 Tricks - Crack a stash at blackjack, double or nothing - Safe houses to patch up, shops to gear up, in every district - A neon pixel-art world, built for Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion - Plays offline. No ads, no tracking, no subscriptions. - Play your hand. Run the city.

Can someone explain to me how you deal damage to your opponent? I understand how to play the cards on the board but when I do, I don’t deal any damage to my opponent, but they deal damage to me. If someone could explain this to me, I’d appreciate it.

The way I understand it is you play your cards or, try to play them next to each other where scoring counts. For example, if you have two aces you'd want to play them next to each other. Either vertical, horizontal or diagonal. You can also play off of their cards and or the cards that are dealt in the center. I hope this is making sense for ya. Now on to my question. when I go onto the gears screen to swap things, I'm having VO focus issues, like I can't look at my stuff because it just takes me right back to the top of the screen. Nor can I explore by touch to get to where I wanna be neither. Is there something I'm missing?

Hey everyone!
Thanks for trying the game!
Regarding the gear screen, I've sent a list of bugs to the developer, and this is one of them. if you swipe right many times from the "done" button you can still change your equipment, but this will be improved. the same bug happens when you open your tricks during gameplay. You will also be able to check the enemy cards.
In order for you to score a hand you need to have all 5 cards. Your objective is to play the best hand to deal the most amount of damage. The cards don't need to be played in order, they just need to be valid for scoring, examples: full house, three of a kind, straight, flush, etc.

Is there a way to increase the damage ideal with each attack? I am at the first boss and I’m having trouble getting past him. I was close and then he killed me by attacking me three times with 12 damage each time.

You need to find better synergies. when playing a card try to check the whole board to find if the card that you're going to play can score in more than one place. sometimes you can make combos that hit more times if you match hands on the vertical, horizontal and diagonal orientations as long as they all have 5 cards, otherwise it won't score.
After the first boss you will be able to buy weapons, armors and tricks to become much stronger.
Reputation also increases your damage.
