I'm the developer of WayFinder, an iPhone visual assistant designed for blind and low vision users.
WayFinder uses the iPhone camera and AI to help users understand what is around them. The goal is to make visual assistance as simple and hands-free as possible.
You can point the camera at your surroundings, activate WayFinder by voice or using the microphone button, ask a question, and receive a spoken response.
For example, WayFinder can help with:
• understanding what is around you
• identifying objects
• reading text, signs and labels
• asking questions about what the camera sees
• getting spoken visual information without navigating through multiple screens
I would really appreciate feedback from blind and low vision iPhone users, especially VoiceOver users.
I'm particularly interested in knowing:
• Are all buttons and controls labelled correctly with VoiceOver?
• Is the navigation and focus order intuitive?
• Is it easy to start a camera interaction?
• Is the voice interaction convenient in real-world situations?
• Are the spoken AI responses clear and useful?
• Are there situations where the interface becomes difficult or impossible to use?
• What would make WayFinder more useful in your daily life?
I'm not looking only for positive feedback. If something is inaccessible, frustrating, unreliable, or simply designed incorrectly, please tell me. I want to identify these problems and improve the app.

Again. What makes this app different than every other app out there. What makes me care about this one over the million different other apps that does, the same, exact thing. Every app like this uses the camera and AI to find things. Oh and how is it hands free when you quite literally, have to hold the phone in the first place. Look, I'm not trying to be a shithead but we got too many of these already. Tell me what makes this app different than any other app out there that does the same, exact, thing. I'll just wait here and pretend that this isn't yet another look around app.
some feedback
so I download this app. I have other similar apps, but wanting to try something else. so ... the onboarding screen. it asked me to sign in with apple, Google or email. that all worked fine. then, in the induction screen, it works with VoiceOver until the last page. I tried skipping this screen, uninstalling and reinstalling this app, using screen recognition, and nothing worked to get past this last page, for lack of a better turm. I am a VoiceOver user, with iOS 27 beta, on an iPhone 17.
25 requests?
I came across the original post, started the download and came back here to read the follow-ups. The two comments posted earlier already say quite a lot about the app and push me toward a more confident conclusion that this app does nothing that other apps can't, but here's my response without launching the app myself. I presume it's not because you're concerned about not being able to get enough subscribers to pay Google that you let us submit no more than 25 requests. This decision is somehow deliberate, and I don't know why, but I wouldn't use an app that would only let me take 25 images, which a plethora of other apps could, without imposing any max request limits, and them submit them to Google Gemini and give me a description, which I could definitely do using the Gemini app itself, again, without any such limits.

That just makes me wanna not download the app even more. Only 25 requests? That's a joke hehehehehe. Hell even be my eyes lets ya do more than that I do believe. Yeah I think we're good here. Next? I got be my eyes, seeing AI, pixy bot, do I need to continue? If you'd like my honest opinion on how this was all thought about, I think the dev put into AI, please suggest me an app to develop that blind people can use on a day to day bassist. Sorry I don't know how to come up with a more, blatantly obvious roadmap where this all came from. Over saturated. So wait, I guess the only think that makes this app different is that you're only allowed to have 25 requests? That's a bit cliche isn't it?
