iOS and iPadOS
Hello all,
I have a question about the kindle app. I have downloaded a book that I needed for school on my iPhone, and cannot figure out how to go to a certain page. How do I go to a specific page within a book, such as page 98? I looked in the menu, and cannot see a go to page function. I see a go to location, but no go to page function. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Page numbers only available when supported by publisher
The ability to navigate to the pages of a printed book in the Kindle app does not exist for all Kindle books. The book must correspond to a book that is published in printed format (it cannot be a book that is only issued in electronic format). In that case, Steve's directions are correct: you first double tap in the center of the screen to bring up the menu and view options (VoiceOver says "menu on"), then you double tap the "menu" button in the top left corner of the screen. If the ability to navigate to a specific (printed) page number is supported, one of the available menu option buttons when you flick right will be "Page…" It should appear just before the "Location…" button, and when you double tap it you'll get a pop up dialogue like "Go to Page, Enter a page number between 1 and 182." with a text field for typing in the page you want. If you only see the option for going to a location, then the page navigation option is not supported.
For Kindle books where printed page number information and navigation is supported, you'll also be able to access this information just below the page chooser slider at the bottom of the page. For example, in the above case where I have navigated to page 98 of 182, if I double tap in the center of the screen to bring up the menu controls, and then either use a four-finger tap on the bottom half of the screen to move to the last element or else slide my finger up from the home button, I'll hear VO announce both the page number and location information: "50%, Page 98 of 182, Loc 1490 of 2985".
Kindle books that support printed page numbers should have an entry under the "Product Details" heading of their Amazon web page that lists the "Print length" in pages and includes an entry for "Page number source ISBN" that identifies the printed book version used for page numbering.
If the go to page feature is not present among the menu options for your Kindle eBook, I might try to check whether there is a version of this book that supports printed page numbers. Sometimes there are multiple eBook versions, and old versions of the eBook do not support page numbers, since support for this feature on the Kindle was only added two or three years ago.
Perhaps you can ask your instructor to provide a direct link to the Kindle eBook version being used for your class? Your sighted colleagues probably need this function, too. If the Kindle eBook version being used for your class does not support page numbers, perhaps the instructor can give the opening sentence or phrase for the beginning and of the assigned reading sections. The you could use the "search" button under the menu options to locate the relevant section of text to start reading. Again, this is something the other sighted students using Kindle versions of the book would also benefit from.
