What’s everyone using for a talking scientific calculator on iOS these days? I’m talking about something that actually knows how to say everything correctly with correct math terminology? Thank you.
I would old school. I had a Texas Instruments 34 talking scientific calculator there was a standalone unit has a built-in rechargeable battery and use adapter and plugged into charger. I’m not sure if that would help at all. I know it’s not on iOS but just in case you wanted something that was outside of your phone and I mean again like I don’t even know if this is even made anymore that was when I was in high school and that was back in like 2005 and 2006 so I don’t even know if it’s made anymore. I’m sorry if this wasn’t helpful I’m just trying to let you know what I was using for a scientific calculator.
I could easily find a scientific calculator. I'm an IOS app dev and trying to figure out if there'd be use for a talking, VO accessible scientific calculator tbh.
Asking because for me, running iOS 18.7.8, all I do is open the calculator, double tap the bottom left corner labeled "change mode", and then double tap the Scientific option. Then I have a scientific calculator in portrait mode.
In earlier versions of iOS, it used to be that you absolutely had to switch your phone to landscape mode to automatically turn the calculator into a scientific one, but I am glad that they changed it to the way I described above. Much easier.

I'm on ios 26. I'll admit i just kinda remembered how it used to be in the old days. i'll have to try it again. i'm about to take a class where this is necessary so yeah.
I hope that this method on the native calculator works for you or that you can find something else that works for you in time for your class. Good luck with everything.
I also hope you find something that works. Like Singer Girl, I had a big, bulky talking scientific calculator which had something like 80+ individual buttons, and of course some with multiple functions. I remember mine had a crap battery so it needed charging all of the time.
I also had a big, bulky Graphing Calculator, but I do not remember much about that device.
These were both used for some college courses.
I would have loved to just use my iPhone, but to be honest, the scientific calculator on the native calc app was not so good back then.
For transparency sake, I am talking as early as iOS 5.
