I am off work at the moment recuperating, so I’ve finally started to look at the stockpile of iOS games I have. But if I’m honest most games really don’t do it for me - I’ve never liked IDLE or rogue-like games, and I found most RPGs very boring because they seem to consist of grinding over and over again. There aren’t many binaural games I’ve got on with - I think Blind Drive is the only one I’ve got to grips with - all the I’ve tried a number of other ones but I’m too inept.
So what I’m looking for are some recommendation for some good games with stories that aren’t going to keep showing me a game over screen or force me to read a thousand pages of tutorials before I start, or have any gameplay mechanics designed just to waste my life away.

Can anyone recommend anything similar? I did try Brock but got a little stuck and gave up.
Sorry I know we have loads of similar posts for people asking for this sort of thing but most people are looking for something different. (IE most people aren't as lazy as me when it comes to this sort of thing and are more prepared to put effort into games).
(I would also accept Mac game recommendations)
I wonder if at some point it would be good to add some kind of categorisation system to the Applevis app directory, so I could just see a list of story games, or idle games or whatever I was interested in.

Choice of Games
I don't play them as often as I used to, but I would highly recommend the apps Choice of Games, Heart's Choice and hosted games. Interactive fiction is a lot of fun, and there are tons of stories you can choose, most of which are quite budget friendly.

I gave Detective's Demise a go today. I had tried one of the Pitch Black games before. They seem like they should be exactly what I am after but for some reason I can never really get to grips with them. I end up either just totally lost or unable to complete basic tasks. With this one I just got shot about a hundred times in a row early on and got frustrated and stopped. I'm pretty sure I could figure out which side the bullet was on, but the controls didn't seem to recognise what I was doing. This is pretty much my experience with binaural games. I really want to like them but just get annoyed.
I installed Eldrum Untold: ages ago - probably right close to when I'd lost my sight fully and was looking to scratch my Playstation itch on the phone. I didn't particularly get on with it, but I thought I would try again and started from the start.
Well, that's my day gone then.
Thanks - this is exactly what I was after - an intriguing story and manageable gameplay. I think there are some other ones in the series as well once I get through this. I have unlocked the full game and it's improving as I progress.
I don't mind RPG games but I don't like games that just seem to purposefully waste my time for no reason. Land of Livia for example, although that is an idle game in disguise. Also Swordy Quest just seemed to force me to mine the same thing over and over again for eternity.

One other game I went back to after I posted this was Nocked.. I had tried this before but once it seemed to get into base building and the like I stopped playing. I was actually quite enjoying it again yesterday even though it now seems to duplicate all text when spoken with VoiceOver which is annoying. I tried opening it up again today and it just wouldn't open at all.
Anyway, thanks again - this should all keep me going for a bit.
