Again with the never-ending Facebook accessibility issues

Hello,

I'm experiencing a bug with the Facebook app on iOS. The bottom navigation bar and the top menu button disappear about five seconds after I open the app. After that, only the posts remain visible, and all navigation options disappear, making the app unusable.

The issue started about two weeks ago. I waited through at least two app updates, expecting the developers to fix it, but the problem persists.

I also reinstalled the app, but that didn't resolve the issue.

To troubleshoot, I signed in with a different Facebook account using the same Facebook app on the same iPhone. With the other account, the bottom navigation bar and all buttons remained visible and worked normally. This indicates that the issue is not with the app itself or my device. Instead, it appears to be account-specific, possibly caused by a server-side interface change affecting only certain accounts.

I also found a temporary workaround. If I open the app and immediately tap Notifications or any button in the bottom navigation bar before it disappears, the navigation bar remains visible for the rest of that session, even if I return to the Home feed. However, I have to repeat this every time I reopen the app.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Tap the "Profile Picture" button at the top of the page. That brings back the tab bar at the bottom and it'll stay as long as you don't go to the "Home" tab again.

Yes, that's true. However, if I've already scrolled through several posts, the Profile Picture button is no longer visible either. The problem is that I can't easily return to the top of the Home feed to access it again.

Does this mean you're experiencing the same issue?

I don't have that problem but since 100 years ago, the accessibility of facebook broke and i can't even remember when it was good. It doesn't matter how much updates they push, for me my main problem is when you open a post to read the comments or play the reel and then you back out of it, if you're several posts ahead, the focus will jump back to the very top and then you lose your spot. I found a work around of it but it doesn't always fix the situation. You have to back out of the post quickly and then hold on the post for a second or 2 and then you're fine. The next thing which I think everyone is having a problem with is that when you want to watch a reel, back then when fb was good, you can easily swipe once to the right to skip ahead to the next reel. You can't do that again. It would either play the same thing over and over again or skip to another reel on its own.

I'm on the latest Facebook version (v569.0.0) and everything works normally. The bottom navigation bar stays visible all the time, and all controls on the navigation bar are fully accessible with VO. Scrolling through posts in the home tab does not cause the navigation bar to disappear, leaving the app opened for 5 seconds or more doesn't cause the navigation and the menu button to disappear either.
