What happened to the rest of the page? Help!

Hi everybody,

The second episode in the "oh my God, I can't believe I stupidly by accident upgraded my iPhone!" tragedy of mine is,

Safari now keeps me trapped inside part of the web page. That's it. Only part. I can arrow down and down and down, and I end up at the beginning without ever seeing the rest of the web page.

This first became apparent on Perplexity AI and on Amazon but also includes way too many other web sites.

I tried changing settings like requesting or not requesting the desktop version. No difference.

I've poured over Safari settings without understanding very much, and now I'm stumped.

How do I get the entire web site page back?

I don't mind arrowing so much, but arrowing down down down, only to end up at the beginning, is proving to be . . . well . . . pretty darned frustrating.

Please Help!

Thank you,

Bruce

Hi Bruce, not sure what you are exactly experiencing. Is reader switched on for all websites, so if you go to, settings/apps/Safari/Reader, is it set to all websites.
One thing I did change, when moving to iOS 26, was the tab layout. Instead of using compact, I wanted my tabs at the bottom of the screen, the back, forward, share, bookmarks and tabs. Instead of trying to use the more button for these features.

do you have the default gestures for two finger swipe left and two finger swipe right active? These are essentially your interact and de-interact gestures, and can easily trap you within a block of text on a webpage, if you are not careful.
Just a thought...

I doublechecked, and I was wrong about the interact touch gesture. Then I made sure which command would work for interact, and guess what? Smile. You were right! It worked!

Thank you so so much, Brian. I am very grateful.

Long live Brians!

Many a time I have thought of asking a question here and putting your name in the subject line. Alas. every time I figured that would be somewhat indiscrete.
