How do I stop SIRI's answers from disappearing from my iPhone screen so fast?

Sad story time.

I accidentally upgraded from IOS 18.7 to 26.5. Sobbing in background. So now I have a bunch of new problems, first of which is,

Does anybody know how to stop SIRI's question answers from disappearing off my iPhone 15 pro screen so quickly I can't even read them and choose which link I want to try?

My wonderful (not) IOS 26 upgrade programmers decided I don't really need any time to actually read and choose from internet links offered by SIRI. How helpful, and how insightful! Make those answers disappear the instant she's done talking!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bruce

I was thinking the same thing, as Siri does the same thing on my iPhone 17 pro max.

I understand why people would want to keep the Siri responses on screen until they are done.

On the other hand, sometimes I feel like I would like to have the Siri feedback disappear since it might be covering up part of an app which I am using.

Would be nice if there was a way to have the user control this behavior either way. Maybe in iOS 27 when Siri becomes a separate app this won't be an issue.

Siri answers are definitely disappearing way too fast in iOS 26. It was one of the first things I noticed as soon as they upgraded to iOS 26. I’m sorry that you’re going through this Bruce. I have an iPhone 15 running iOS 26.5 and they also have an iPhone SE 2022 which is also running iOS 26.5 and both of them are exhibiting this behavior. It was definitely not an issue at all for me until iOS 26. Yeah, there is definitely some things that I just don’t love about iOS 26 but hopefully it’s something that we can figure out how to get resolved at some point. Maybe this will be fixed with iOS 27. I’m sorry that I don’t know how to stop this behavior. But I hope at least it helps that you know that you’re not alone.

Hi Bruce,

Try playing around with the following settings, and see how things work for you.

• go to Settings, Accessibility, Siri. Under Siri Pause Time, change it from default to one of the extended options.
• on that same screen, swipe to the right and look for the option to "Show Apps behind Siri", and turned this off.
• now, go to Settings, Siri. Navigate to the right and double tap on Siri responses. Swipe right until you find "Always Show Siri Captions", and turn this on. Finally, swipe right again until you find "Always Show Requests", and turn this on.

I don't guarantee that these settings will work, but all of them are related to what you see, or here, onscreen after sending an inquiry to Siri, so hopefully they will help keep the dialogue on screen longer for you.

Best of luck!

@Brian
Thanks for those list of Siri settings. That should be helpful.

Along the same lines, is there a way to review the Siri history of questions and responses?

Thanks.

To my knowledge we are not capable of seeing our history logs. We can only delete them. 🤷

No, there is no way to do this. At least from what I understand there is no way to review Siri history. But maybe with the planned Siri app in iOS 27 it will happen. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
