Here's a copy of what I forwarded to myself from Apple News. It's good to know we are not alone. The sighted are also getting fed up.
I hope you can access the link.

iOS 26 broke my iPhone. A fix is coming (I hope)
This year, Apple doesnβt need to reinvent iOS. It needs to make it work again. Contributor | MAY 11, 2026 4:15 am PDT In summary: Summary created by Smart Answers AI Macworld reports that iOS 26βs new Liquid Glass interface and incomplete Apple Intelligence features are causing significant performance issues, including overheating and rapid battery drain on iPhones. interesting read
well, th5 is interesting. even with all thw accessibility options for liquid glass, and still battery drane? it's windows vista all over again. windows vista had a transparent design, and microsoft received backlash from it's user base who bought new PCs and upgraded. then because of all the negative feedback, arrow was gone in windows seven. apple needs to do the same thing accross all it's OS's. transparency and translusincy are not always good; especially for low vision users. but even the fully sighted have similar useibility issues? Apple needs to listen, and it all starts with submitting reports and beta testing. for me, I always test developer betas,. even when. they were paid. liquid glass in iOS 26 beta one was lagey and slow, on an old iPhone twelve pro max. we'll see what beta one of iOS twenty seven is like, running on an iPhone seventeen. I am expecting great strides in bug fixing. videos are all over Youtube, claiming iOS twenty seven will be a 'snow Lepoard' update. I really hope so. snow leopard brought major VoiceOver changes and improvements, and if i could, I'd downgrade my 2019 intel mac to it. VoiceOver in those days was rock solid, with everything working. Ventura was rough for mac users, but i was beta testing monterey, and all of my suggestions made there way into ventura. beta testing matters, particulary for accessibility users. notg enough are beta testing, and not enough are putting betas on primary devices. only if that is done, will peskey VoiceOver bugs, some of which have been around for years, get fixt. I read on this site, how when the m 3 chip came out, Safari not responding was fixt. now, sitting in front of an m 5 macbook pro, safari not responding plags my exsistence. but more testers mean more reports, which means more data, which means bug fixes. i hope apple gives us the updates that we all need, for things to 'just work', like in the Steeve Jobs arra.

Apple News is a walled garden news aggregator, and not everyone has (or wants!) it in their world, even when it's preinstalled on the device. Also, it has ads, which can't be blocked as easily as those on the web.

Notice that you can view it in Safari reader, and it's really tidy; notice, too, the Apple Intelligence article summary if those are enabled, and the table of contents if highlighting is on. In other words, a much superior experience to Apple News.
I appreciate discussions about external source material, they're fun, but please give those who hate Apple News options. Thanks.
