Anybody know of any baseball games we can play aside from old school jim kitchen and blindfold baseball? I heard about out of the park baseball but I don't know if that's accessible.
Obviously it's not screen reader accessible, given its age and platform, but the game can most definitely be played if you are willing to learn and memorize some of the settings, such as auto base running, auto fielding, auto throwing and auto sliding. With these settings turned on, all you need to do is pitch and bat. Below is a link of me playing this game on RetroArch. Note however, that I have deliberately turned off crowd and music volumes to gain better access to the playing sounds on the diamond. You can certainly test by yourself and see whether you are comfortable with it included, assuming you get the game at some point. https://youtu.be/sl9bxJsWnx4
I usedato play old school madden and NBA as a kid on ps2 and psp. I noticed that sports gamesaback then were accidentally playable. Only thing missing was a screen reader. I wasn't really into baseball as a kid so I never played those old mlb games on ps2 but now that I've gotten into baseball in the past few years I've been wanting a way to play baseball on my pc. I'm not worried about current players I just want a good baseball experience. I guess I need to get some ps2 and psp game roms and start exploring lol
A couple of friends and I play the strat-o-matic windows game. It's not the most accessible game in the world but it is playable, and one of my friends who plays the game knows somebody who is supposed to be working on jaws scripts that will make the parts of the game that aren't accessible now more accessible, but I think I started playing the game back around 2017 and the guy was supposedly working on the scripts back then and he still hasn't come through with anything.
I like strat-o-matic because each year updates are released with the previous year's teams and it even has the names of the players in the game and their yearly stats.
When you're at bat you can bunt, hit and run, steal etc, and when your team is in the field you can decide what the fielder does such as try to throw a runner out trying to steal or score, or the game will tell you what chance you have of throwing the runner out and you can either not try to throw out the scoring runner, or if you're the catcher trying to throw out a runner and the percentage is too low for throwing him out you can just hold onto the ball. Btw it's pretty realistic too because there are errors committed.
Is it like a management style game like out of the park where you manage a teak through seasons and upgrade your stadium etc? Also can you play multiplayer?
Basically, it's a mode where you must select what your players are doing play-by-play. Since it's not accessible with screen readers, I guess a person could still use be my AI by sending screenshots and asking questions about the options, or you could use an app like Scribe me. other things you can do is play season mode, road to the show mode, home run derby and finally, exhibition mode.
I'm not familiar with any of the ones you mentioned but you can play games against the computer as the opposing manager or against another person, although I usually just play against the computer because I've never learned how to set up a game against somebody else so the other person does it, and at least to me I can play a game against the computer much faster. It takes me maybe 30 minutes or less to play a game when I play against the computer, but when I play against friends it takes longer because when the computer makes a lineup or a pitching change it's a quick procedure, whereas the couple of times I've played against a friend it takes longer for them to make the same changes. Because of that, and because there's only 3 blind people that I'm aware of that play strat-o-matic, it's just easier and quicker to play against the computer.
You're basicly managing your team against another team, but the fun thing is that you can play any major league team from any year that you've purchased, against another team even from a different year that you've also purchased.
That's one bad thing is that like this year's upgrade included all of the teams from 2025 and I had to buy that update, and each year I have to buy the most current update which is always from the previous year, then if there are other years that you want you have to buy those seasons as well. It can get pretty expensive then unless you do what I've done and buy one or two new seasons per year.
I do have plans to create a beep ball like homerun derby game. this is still in the very early phases but you will be able to tell speed by fequency and location (high or low) by tone. Its a simple swipe to hit homerun derby game but so far in prototyping it has been pretty fun. It has kind of taken the back burner to my Adenture to fate games but hopefully later this summer I can dedicate some more time to it.
I would also like an accessible baseball game. All they really have to do with MLB the show is add screen reader support similar to Madden, and that would be good enough for me, since I am more into the team building and just watching the games. I know it's two different publishers, but still. Unfortunately that's not happening. Heck, EA won't even add screen reader support into their other EA Sports games. When it comes to iOS mobile baseball games, I don't know of any that are accessible.
Yep, looks like I gotta vibe code us an accessible baseball game. I just got an m1 macbook air for really cheap so I'll be able to make mac builds of my apps. I'm not a fan of VoiceOver on the mac. That's why I left the mac 3 years ago. I love Mac OS but I hate the way VoiceOver works. The only reason why I even bought this mac was so I can make apps for iOS and other mac users.

MLB 11 - The Show on PSP for me.

How does that work?
How does it work? Is it a club manager like Out Of The Park or can you actually play the game like mlb the show?

The Show also have a manager mode.
