Problems scanning Digit-Eyes labels

A few years ago, I purchased some preprinted Digit-Eyes audio labels. I'm having trouble scanning them consistently. Every once in a while I can get one to recognize, but not regularly. Have they made improvements with newer labels, or are there some tips for more consistent scanning? Thanks.

What device are you using? With my iPod 4, recognition is a little spotty with preprinted labels. As I understand it, it's neither the labels nor app's fault, but rather the low resolution camera. Holding the label 8 inches away, and making sure I have the camera and label surface paralelle helps. Of course lighting helps too.
I'm using an iPhone 5S. Are you suggesting that labels you print at home are easier to scan than the preprinted labels Digit-Eyes sells?
Nope. I have only used the preprinted labels I bought from Digit-Eyes. I have no experience with printing my own. You mentioned getting the labels a couple years ago, and that's why I wondered what device you had. My suggestion about the camera being low resolution was based on the thought you may have an iPod like mine. Your iPhone should have no camera quality issues. You might try contacting Digit-Eyes support. They are fantastic and can walk you through getting the best results.

I haven't used the app for a few months and now when I scan both blank and created labels it reads the letters DM and then a list of numbers. On blank letters it does this and doesn't give a chance to record. I talked to develipor yesterday and she said that the letters and numbers are the codes under the barcode. I first reset my phbone and the same thing happened. Next I turned off my phone and tried it again and the same thing happened. I uninstalled and reinstalled the ap and the same thing happened again. I have the paid version of the app and am running latest IOS 7 on a 4S.

I too bought labels a couple of years ago. I just tried scanning with Iphone 5 using IOS 7. It did work, but it took a couple of tries. I would suggest repositioning the label and adjusting the distance between the label and the camera. I have found that scanning often takes a couple of attempts even when I am scanning the barcode on a package.
