Ok this is weird. In the last day or so suddenly half of my messages new or old are no longer showing me the contact details. Just the number they called from. So for example Had a message last week still in my messages app from John, Now john is showing as 071234567. Equally, if I go into the message it shows as locked and says share your name and photo and gives you the option to add the number to a new or existing contact. All very strange as I've done nothing to alter anything.

Fixed I think
Ok did a google and it suggested this could be to do with shortname being off. It wasn't it was on in the contact app. However, I turned it off and on and still no luck. So did the traditional reset and it fixed it. What I don't get is this is on two phones. The only link is the same apple id account. Oh well should have done a search before posting. Would delete this but someone else may have the issue and the fix maybe unknown to them.

I believe it's something to do with RCS implementation in particular the attempt to offer full encryption.
