Card World - New Card Game from Dice World Creator

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something I've been working on for a while now. Card World is a new multiplayer card game built from the ground up with accessibility at its core — same philosophy as Dice World, just with cards.

The first games available will be Gin Rummy and Rummy 500, with full VoiceOver support on iOS. Blind and sighted players play together in the same games — no separate modes, no compromises. If you've played Dice World, you know that's how I think games should work.

A few things worth mentioning:

• More games are already in development. These 2 games are just the starting point. The plan is to keep adding card games to Card World over time, so it becomes a place you can always find a game and someone to play with.

• Accessibility isn't a feature, it's the foundation. Every interaction in Card World was designed to be accessible from day one — not bolted on after the fact.

Card World will be available on the App Store soon. I'll post again when it's live.

If you have questions or want to know more, happy to answer in the comments.

Thanks for all the support over the years — the Dice World community is the reason I keep building.

— Nick

Card games such as Spades, Yahtzee, and Blackjack at any point? If so, consider me a happy supporter. 😁

By nbappdev on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 18:34

Spades yes, Yahtzee is in Dice World (not a card game). Not sure on Blackjack.

By Brian on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 19:13

Oh, you are right. My mistake.

By Brian Giles on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 19:38

This sounds interesting. I'm assuming there could be some generic games to get around popular game licenses, like how Yotsy is a generic version of the brand name game Yahtzee. What about Crazy 8's in place of Uno?

Is Accessibility in Card World native like Dice World? Some of the later games that were added to Game World, used the Unity plugin, which I found less easy to use than native VoiceOver support. Although, didn't Apple add their own accessibility support for Unity games a few years ago?

By nbappdev on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 19:47

This is not unity. I tried forever to make the Unity thing work and it was not maintainable, which is why Game world is no longer avail.

By Brian Giles on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 20:25

Interesting. I wondered why that game just kind of disappeared. I did like some of the games in it, like Ludo.

I wonder if the Unity plugin went away. I know there was a WWDC session a few years ago on making games with Unity accessible. The presenter made a demo simple matching game, and it seemed to me to act more like a native accessible game -- it seemed different than the Unity plugin. Although I did enjoy reading how the dev came up with it and seemed to genuinely want to be helpful.

Anyway, looking forward to Card World.

I remember the game you're talking about: Blindy Match. Honestly, I still miss that little game. I think the plug-in still exists, though. Seven Little Words was using it last time I checked, and I seem to recall a few other games use it. Dawncaster for sure uses it.

By Brian Giles on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 22:22

Yes, Blindie Match was great. Add that to the list of, will someone make a game like this again? lol

By shankar on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 22:22

hi, i was playing diceworld on my android device where i used to login with fb and never bothered to put a pw for that. recently i migrated to an iphone, and there seems to be no option to login with FB any way to recover my account? i remember my username.

By serrebi on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 22:43

Just rename it and the cards if you have to. Miles and miles or something.

By Trenton Matthews on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 22:54

There's a similar Card World app on the Play Store that involves building things. It has nothing to do with this one people are talking about here.

Hopefully, there will be a distinction or something for clarification.

By Angel Blessing on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 23:06

Will we be able to beta test the app? and if so how do we sign up to do so.

By KE8UPE on Monday, March 23, 2026 - 23:37

Hello,
Thank you for creating Card World!
I'm one of your beta testers & I love the app!
As I write this, I just thought of another game you could add! Euchre!
I’ll also put this idea on the forum, to see what others think.
I have a BrailleSense notetaker & am curious to know if Card World will be coming to Android, just like Dice World did?
It would be neat to play in Braille! If it is in fact coming, drop me a line & I'd be more than happy to beta test that version as well.
Keep up the incredible work!

will you add Bridge and holdem in the future?

i'll have to learn Rummy variants not played this before how can we keep up-to-date as to what games are coming out and is this on test-flight?

Thank you

By Leela on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 - 06:19

I'll be sure to give this a try when it's ready. I hope one day you'll bring back some of the games from game world in an accessible format. Especially the ludo game.
I loved that game.

By David Standen on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 - 10:37

Ludo is available in TableEx, as is Uno.

By Missy Hoppe on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 - 20:50

I realize that this isn't exactly related to cards or dice, but if possible someday, I think that it would be seriously awesome if we could somehow get some dominos games like mexican train, Fives and Threes, or whatever else might be out there. I know I can play those on the playroom using my computer, but having them to practice on my phone would be really great if it ever became possible.

By KE8UPE on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 - 20:54

Hello,
I 100% agree with the above comment!

That’s fantastic news, Nick! I’m really excited about the future of CardWorld. I definitely think it’s something the community is going to love, especially with the history behind DiceWorld. I still play DiceWorld every day, and it has been so great being able to play with everyone, whether they’re sighted or not.

Thank you so much for creating CardWorld, and especially for keeping accessibility in mind from the very beginning. Gin Rummy sounds like a great choice for the first card game, and I can’t wait to see what other card games you have planned.

Keep up the wonderful work, and thanks again for letting the community know about CardWorld!

I would love to see Uno added in the future!

By Panais on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 - 13:26

I remember my friends used to play Titsu online. It seemed interesting. This one might need an app of its own though.

By Brian on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 - 13:40

Love Uno. I like to play that a lot on RS games client. I also used to enjoy "Blindfold Wildcard," which was one of the Blindfold titles by Kid Friendly Software. I don't know if any of those work with braille displays though, as they are self voicing and you usually have to turn voiceover off for those to work.

First, thank you so much for not using the Unity platform! Sadly, as a braille user, there is no unity with that plug in, since it doesn't work very well with braille displays for those of us depending on braille. I agree Uno would be a fantastic edition! I've sent an email concerning beta testing as requested, and look forward to playing it soon or eventually when it's released to the public!

I really hope that whatever card games are added include bots. As a beginner, I’d much rather learn by playing against bots first, instead of jumping straight into games with people who already know what they’re doing. It can be a bit uncomfortable playing when you’re still figuring out the rules.

Sure, you can look up how to play, but actually playing against a bot is a much easier way to get familiar with the rules and flow of the game. Once you’re comfortable, then it makes sense to play against real people.

Dice World handled this really well by including bots, and it made a big difference. Even then, I mostly stuck to games I already knew.

Also, there are times when there simply aren’t other players available, and that’s where bots are especially useful.

By Karok on Thursday, March 26, 2026 - 08:19

Several skill level bots are included, i'm participating in the test flight version and would encourage anyone to do the same it's a lot of fun but i still figuring out some of the rules but everything is as you would expect of course, accessible.

By Lucky101 on Friday, March 27, 2026 - 00:27

I’m also on the test flight version and I’m getting the hang of playing gin rummy

By Exodia on Friday, March 27, 2026 - 02:37

I would like to see the Italian game Scopa added to the list of games. I used to play the app version with the actual Italian names for some of the cards which I think was pretty cool. There was also briscola which was another Italian card game. I can’t remember exactly how that one worked very well. Uno would also be an awesome game to play because I used to love playing it when I was a kid with my mom and my friends at school and one of my other friends who was not from school. Lol. You get the idea.

By kool_turk on Friday, March 27, 2026 - 07:10

Uno is basically crazy eights, only without the draw, skip, and reverse cards.
The eight card is what acts as a wild card, and instead of colours, you use the suits.
Uno was invented in the early 70s (1971 I think), where as crazy eights is much older, going back to around the late 1800s.
It was actually created to settle arguments about how to play crazy eights properly, but people still ended up making their own house rules anyway.

Hello,
Will there be a beta version for this? If so, where can I find the link for it?

By wiljames on Friday, March 27, 2026 - 20:28

If possible, I would love to see Phase 10 as part of Card World. To my knowledge, I have not seen an accessible version of this game, unless it’s under another name.

Keep up the good work!

By Lisa on Saturday, March 28, 2026 - 12:44

This sounds awesome! Looking forward to giving it a try.
I am requesting that you include Uno, as it is my favorite card game.
I enjoy playing Dice World, thank you for all that you do for our community.

Thank you for making Accessibility a priority, it is very much appreciated.

The developer just posted a note in the forum. The app is coming soon!

By nbappdev on Monday, March 30, 2026 - 20:25

I just started a Discord Server for Card World and Dice World.

https://discord.gg/QhF8W5jN

Feel free to join! I am hoping this will better help me keep in contact with everyone and support both games.

By Missy Hoppe on Monday, March 30, 2026 - 21:02

I suspect that I may be in the minority here, but honestly, I find the Discord to be horribly overwhelming, but I know it's becoming increasingly popular for betas and support in general, so I will probably try to join your server at some point. I feel as though the older I get, the more that technology is advancing farther than I'm able to keep up with, especially when it comes to social media platforms. In any case, I'll be eagerly anticipating the new game's release.

By kool_turk on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 - 02:18

Keep in mind that Discord is banned in some countries, so although it may be popular and offers a quick, easy way to keep everything in one place, not every country can use it. Also, while the Discord interface is usable these days, it is not as user-friendly as IRC was back in the day. When you think about it, Discord is really just IRC with quite a few extra bells and whistles.

Can you please add a random opponent or game Q similar to Dice World? And also, could you please see if you can add the Dice World characters so that way they can speak what is on the turn after banking the turn?

By Bingo Little on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 - 09:05

I'm very excited by this concept. Card games are tremendous fun. As well as playing within the app, I'm also looking forward to learning new games that I can play with real cards when at games nights etc. Just casting another vote for Bridge, and adding cribbage and draw poker (this pre-dates Texas Hold'em) too. I think the classic game of whist (the Victorian version) would also be on my wish list; though for the avoidance of doubt, I would not expect this all at once! I'm another bots fan - I prefer to make a frightful hash of things when playing against the computer.

By ming on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 - 12:43

I just downloaded it and it is a very good one.
and I hope it can have more card games like Uno some card battling games as well..
