Apple today introduced the AirPods Max 2, bringing several intelligent features made possible by the H2 Chip, as well as a new high dynamic range (HDR) amplifier for improved sound quality.

With H2, the same chip that powers the AirPods and AirPods Pro, AirPods Max 2 support Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness (which enhances voices and lowers media volume when it detects a user is talking), Voice Isolation, and Live Translation via Apple Intelligence. In addition, AirPods Max 2 features improved sound quality and 1.5X more effective active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to the previous generation, according to Apple.

With Camera Remote, you can take a photo or video in the built-in Camera app, as well as supported third-party apps, by pressing the Digital Crown on AirPods Max 2 when paired with an iPhone or iPad. It is not currently known which third-party apps are supported, or if this feature enhances accessibility in any way.

AirPods Max 2 will be available in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue, and can be preordered from Apple starting Wednesday, March 25, for US $549. They will begin shipping to customers in early April.

if still same design and that odd case and no folding, the first generation i think would still suffice

I'm curious to know if there is any physical difference, like a better case, or apart from the max 1, in what other way do these differ from the max1 series? I mean at the moment these seem neet but nothing overwelming. Well that and it begs the question, if there aren't differences physically to the max 1, would they still have the same issues? I.e the left cup stop working or the cable not working after a bit because of I think it was bad contact or something if memory serves?

For those who choose to purchase this, I hope that you enjoy it. I am sure you won't be disappointed. However, for me, I can find good enough noise cancelling in headphones a third of the price, much better battery life, and an actual case. Heck, you can get the Tozo HT3 for around $30 when on sale, and it has the AI translation feature, ANC, and aware modes (though, admittedly, nowhere near the Airpods Max level), and you can even get user created EQs to download if you don't like any of the default Tozo 2-dozen different EQ settings in the app. Like I said, for those who choose to get this, I am sure you will have a good experience.

These aren’t for me. But then again, no Bluetooth headphones really are. I just like to read the reviews in blog post and things to see what they’re all about but I’d rather just use wired headphones since there’s instant response with those and you don’t have to worry about charging a battery. You’re keeping the firmware up-to-date in software and stuff like that soon. No thank you to the years. Also I’m not spending like $600 on headphones. And they don’t even have pink for an option. I hope whoever gets seasons joins them.

Unlike the trash upgrade we got 12? years ago with just shiny colours and usb c but same old h1.

I have the USB-c variant of the AirPods Max currently stashed away in a drawer ever since they returned from repair, since they are way too heavy, their headband messes up my hair, the ear cushions cause irritation on my skin after prolonged use, and even though they do support USB audio, they still switch to Bluetooth when their microphone is in use, which makes absolutely no sense to me. My daily drivers now are the baseline AirPods 4 for computer use and the third-generation AirPods Pro for everything else.

Is bad when the headset is more expensive than the Neo mac. Long live cats.

Just think, for "only" $1800, you can have a MacBook, an iPhone, and a pair of headphones.
An entire Apple ecosystem can be yours, for this low, low price.
