Bug with Safari and Voiceover: all content disappearing

Hi all,

I have just purchased a new MacBook Pro 14" with M5Pro chip. I did the set-up, and all seemed to go fine.

However, when I started to use Safari, I noticed a bug which I would describe as having the highest severity. I have noticed this on multiple sites, including AppleVis. Details are:

1. Type an address into the URL/address field
2. Wait for the page to load, and proceed to interact with the content.
3. Press the commmand to move to the first available heading
4. Content disappears. All Voiceover sees in the Safari window is the toolbar, and immediately preceding it, an unlabelled image.

In short: this means Safari is totally unusable for me. Has anyone else encountered this? I will of course report to Apple, and perhaps in about a decade they might fix it. For anyone interested, I'm sending this from my old, Intel Mac from 2019 which is still working fine.

Thanks for any insights.

When this happens just reload the page with command plus r. This usually fixes the issue.

Yep, tried that and no joy. For some reason it hasn't happened once today. The only thing which is different about my set-up compared to yesterday is that I brought my VO preferences over from my old Mac. Not a notion what's different.

Have you tried restarting VoiceOver when this happens?
