Apple has today introduced a new generation of the iPad Air, powered by the M4 processor.

The new iPad Air comes with 12GB of unified memory and 120GB/s of memory bandwidth. The M4 processor in iPad Air features an 8-core CPU and a 9-core GPU, and offers the below gains in performance over previous models:

  • Up to 30% faster than iPad Air with M3.
  • Up to 2.3x faster than iPad Air with M1.

In addition to the improvements in memory and processor, the M4 iPad Air includes the Apple-designed N1 networking chip and C1X modem (for cellular models); both of which offer faster connectivity.

The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air with M4 come in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage configurations. Pricing starts at $599 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi model and $749 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular model, and $799 for the 13-inch Wi-Fi model and $949 for the 13-inch Wi-Fi + Cellular model. A $50 savings is available to education customers, with the 11-inch iPad Air starting at $549 and the 13-inch iPad Air starting at $749, respectively.

Is the iPad Air a smaller iPad?

I think is the same size as the iPad 9. If I am wrong someone let us know. I am not. Long live cats.

I won’t be getting one. I had an iPad mini six generation, and I just got way too lost on the bigger screen in the split view of the apps that could not be disabled for voiceover users. So I don’t think I would ever get a iPad again. But at least I tried one out for a while. Plus the iPads don’t come in pink so I still wouldn’t be interested. I don’t even think I would get a Bluetooth keyboard for an iPad. But that’s just me. I hope whoever gets one. We’ll have a good time with it and enjoy it. I think if we could turn off the split view, I would be more likely to keep an iPad.

You can turn off Split View in both Settings>Multitasking, and via the control center.

The iPad Air comes in two sizes, 11 inch and 13 inch.
The 11 inch is your classic “normal” iPad size, same size as the standard numbered iPads and the base iPad Pro.
The 13 inch is much bigger, a lot closer to the size of a standard 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.

It does not work all the time in iOS 26.3 and iPad 9. Long live you know who.

By macOS_Skyline on Monday, March 2, 2026 - 21:03

I’m not sure what you are referring to.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, March 2, 2026 - 21:16

It does not work most of the times. Long live cats.

It works for me, but again, if you don’t want it or it does not work properly for you, you can completely disable it in the settings.

Did so. Thanks and Long live cats. Keep safe.
