Hi all.
Does anyone know of an accessible way to create an identical backup of the internal Hard Disk to an external one.
On the Mac I use an excellent appp named 'Super Duper'. it makes and identical, and bootable, copy of the internal Hard Disk of the Mac's internal Hard Disk.
So, please let me know if there is a similar app for Windows 11.
Regards,
Frankie.

Re: Clonde a hard drive under Windows.
O&O make such a program, I used it when I put an SSD in a laptop and it worked fine. You can download a demo. Take a look at:

A free and accessible way to clone and restore a drive.
There is a free way to clone and restore a drive thatβs free and accessible.
In Windows7 and later, go into Windows Control Panel. Find the item Backup and Restore Windows7. In here choose to create a system image. You can select where the image is stored, say on a removable disk.
In the event you need to restore data, start your machine from a bootable Windows11 disk or memory stick. Use the Repair option then you can choose to restore your machine from the disk image you have created.
Hope this is of help to someone.
I should point out that Narrator is available on a Windows11 and Windows10 bootable drive so the restoration can be performed with speech. Itβs useful to have your first boot option to USB that way life is made easier if your machine does not start.
Rufus
You can create a .img file of a selected drive or use a .iso / .img onto a drive. I believe it could be helpful.
HDD Cloning
Hi all,
Thanks for the replies.
I know about the image creation methods but prefer to create a full disk, uncompressed backup, as image backups can become corrupt and unusable.
