Parallels question

macOS and Mac Apps

I am using Mac OS 26, and the latest version of Parallels desktop from the App Store. I got it installed fine, but if I leave the app, or if it has an error and I have to force quit, I have to have sited assistance to get back in.

It makes me hit the play button, and I have to sign in with my apple ID again, and I can't find the play button using VOCR.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what is the fix? Thanks in advance.

Thisis still happening, so I thought I would push it to the top.

I'd recommend using the version from parallels sthemselves to avoid this problem. The only other option I can think of to get the vm started, go into the menu bar, actions menu then press on start. Either that, or set the vm to start automatically when launching parallels.

I don't actually load from parallels, instead I've made an alias from the windows install itself. If it is default it should be in your home folder. Create an alias, put it in your app folder and name it windows. It boots the VM directly rather than having to mess about in parallels.

Also, you can get the VM running again if you are in parallels, go VO M, go to window and down to the bottom, there should be windows there, whilst control pannel panel is highlighted. Hit windows, then do VO m again and you can get to the action menu and hit start.

Whilst you're in that menu check out your config, it might be worth playing with the settings of how the VM starts and shuts down. You can set it so it always starts when parallels starts though, my frist solution here is far nicer.

would it be easier to use whisky or crossover in order for me to play around with old windows games, and old windows-based tts engines that run in their own speak windows, like decTalk and BestSpeech, or speaking text editors.
