Hi all, hope you're having a good week!

Just letting everyone know that we've released a Weather Gods update featuring our new AI weather text capability.

This feature uses Weather Gods data to generate engaging, descriptive weather summaries. You can select different time periods (e.g., today, tomorrow, this week, next weekend, etc.) and customize the tone with a variety of personas—from a classic TV forecaster to snarky commentary or even a pirate-style forecast!

The AI generation runs on a credit-based system, as it leverages an external paid service. Credits can be purchased in-app, and subscribers receive a complimentary batch of free credits each month.

I've taken extra care to ensure full VoiceOver compatibility, with clearly labeled sections and intuitive navigation between time periods.

A huge thank you to all our testers who helped refine and shape this feature!

Below is an example of today's AI-generated forecast for Chicago to give you a taste of what it's like.

Hope you enjoy it!
Scott

Good morning, Chicago! It's Wednesday here in the Windy City, and we're kicking off the day with mostly sunny skies in the morning. Expect temperatures averaging 43°F, with a high of 48°F and a low of 37°F—feels like 35°F with that breeze. Winds from the west-northwest at 15 mph, gusting up to 29 mph, so bundle up if you're heading out for a walk along the lakefront. Humidity at 85%, dew point at 33°F, visibility a clear 9 mi, UV index at 2 (grab some sunscreen if you're out midday), and no chance of precipitation at 0%. Air quality is good with an index of 27.

Afternoon in Cook County is looking bright and sunny—perfect for grabbing a hot dog at one of our iconic spots without worrying about rain. Temperatures averaging 49°F, maxing out at 51°F and min at 47°F, but it'll feel like 46°F in the wind. Those west-northwest winds are picking up to 17 mph with gusts to 27 mph, so hold onto your hat if you're strolling through Millennium Park. Humidity drops to 49%, dew point at 31°F, visibility steady at 9 mi, UV index at 1, and precipitation probability remains 0%. Air quality holds good at 27.

As evening rolls in over Chicago, we'll see mostly clear skies—great for an outdoor dinner or catching the city lights. Temps averaging 44°F, with a high of 46°F and low of 42°F, feeling like 38°F. Winds from the west-northwest at 12 mph, gusting to 19 mph, humidity at 57%, dew point 32°F, visibility 9 mi, UV index 0, and still 0% chance of any precip. Air quality good at 27—breathe easy!

Overnight into Thursday, Chicago stays mostly clear—ideal for stargazing if the city glow doesn't interfere. Temperatures averaging 39°F, topping at 41°F and dipping to 37°F, feels like 33°F. Winds from the west-northwest at 10 mph, gusting up to 14 mph, with humidity at 70%, dew point 32°F, visibility 9 mi, UV index 0, and no precipitation expected at 0%. Air quality remains good at 27. Stay warm, folks—maybe cozy up with some hot cocoa!

Using the pirate one and is nice. Wander if we can get voices for them to go with it. Would love a pirate voice telling me the weather.

Could we have some siri integration with the AI? Like be able to get the weather from any city using WG and siri? I trust wg's data a lot more than apple weather whatever it's using. Or ask WG AI questions via siri?

hi techluver

yep, that can be done.

Siri is so broken and iOS 26.4 suppose to change it. Whatever changes would be needed to be redone again or i am mistaking. Long live cats.

Agree with Brooke. Not only that but you are responsive to feedback about WG regarding beta. Long live cats.

I love the new AI features voices in the future to read in those personalities would be great! how many credits does each request use?

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Friday, November 14, 2025 - 09:06

Hi Karok,

Each request is a credit.

Some requests cost more because the AI is doing more work, others are slightly less. I felt a credit was the best way to keep costs simple.

The generated text is cached for a short amount of time - so you are not charged for checking it again.

Subscribers also get free credits every month as part of their plans.

This AI feature is terrific and I'd like to try more of them out.

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Friday, November 14, 2025 - 21:40

Hi Jo
Glad you like it!

If you currently subscribe to the extended forecast then you get 10 free credits per month. Premium (not grandfathered) get 20 a month. In both cases they rollover.

If you want to purchase credits outright then we have zephyr (credit) packs. You can goto settings, my account, buy more zephyrs.

We have packs at different price points and at the moment all packs are receiving a bonus set of credits.

I'm planning on extending this to include weather alerts, storm threats, tides, sun/moon etc.

I tried out one of the AI personas on the forecast for Chicago a couple days ago and was very impressed. Thank you Scott for including the AI stuff. It'd be cool to have these forecasts read in different voices according to their individual personalities, but this is a great start.

By Holger Fiallo on Sunday, November 16, 2025 - 15:29

Agree. Would love a pirate telling me the weather in Chicago.

By Jo Billard on Monday, November 17, 2025 - 16:42

I'll definitely look-into it. I'm grandfathered so I already used up my two credits.
