Request for advice on screen braille input and iPhone 16e with iOS 26

Hello everyone,
I’d like to ask for some advice regarding the screen braille input mode. Until a few months ago, I was using an iPhone SE 2022 and could type quickly and accurately with braille input. Recently, I switched to an iPhone 16e, and I’ve noticed a couple of issues:
1.
Sometimes when I type a letter, it gets skipped — even though I press it, it doesn’t appear. This never happened before.
2.
When I enable screen braille input and double-tap with three fingers, I can’t unlock the braille orientation, which I used to lock in “screen not facing me” mode.
I’m not sure if this is a bug in iOS 26, but previously I could easily switch between contracted and uncontracted braille and lock or unlock the input orientation. Now I can’t.
Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to fix these issues?
Thanks in advance!

Reset voiceover, which you can find in accessibility.

I changed some of my settings with BSI that make it work a lot more easily. But double check how yours are set up. I have also found that it works better with the 16e if you don't have a screen protector on the phone. Still have a good sturdy case though.

It was probably a VoiceOver bug that occurred when switching from the old iPhone to the new one, or from the previous iOS version to iOS 26. Restoring the settings fixed everything — now I can lock and unlock the Braille orientation as before, and switch between the previous and next Braille tables. Also, the issue where some letters weren’t being recognized when typing seems to be resolved.
