I thought maybe the difference is tiny, but after using macos with the airpods for a month or so and then not using it with airpods, I noticed that the responsiveness without is drasticly faster that I instantly noticed after the switch, now, with iphone, this is not the case, so I wonder if I'm the only one facing this issue, and if there are solutions? Maybe something I can toggle that will improve connectivety? Or is macos just terrible with bluetooth naturally.

YOu're not the only one
I have the same issue. That’s why I always use my Mac with wired headphones or its internal speakers. AirPods work much better with iPhones than Macs in terms of latency.
Me too
mac sits right in the middle when it comes to latency, worse than iPhone, but better than Windows and Apple Watch.
Not sure
I am not noticing any difference in latency between Mac and iPhone. I have the Mac Air M4 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max and AirPods Pro 2. Honestly not going through this.
I doubt that’s the issue
M3 pro macbook pro, so I’ll be surprised if that’s the problem
Could it be the Low Power Mode?
try to toggle that off and see if it makes any difference, although I doubt it as I use my Mac on low power mode when unplugged all the time and I see no difference in latency.
The latency is definitely noticable for me on macbook pro m4 pro
I use AirPods Pro 2 with my MacBook Pro M4 Pro, and the latency is definitely much more noticeable compared to my iPhone 16 Pro. When I used the 15 Pro, it was the same—almost no latency on the iPhone, but the delay on the Mac was annoying enough to make me use my wired headphones all the time.
Same here
Same here. I also use the airpods pro 2 with my MacBook Pro M1, and I notice the latency with VoiceOver.
