Hi AppleVis Community,

When browsing on the AppleVis Website, is there a way to switch to regular clock hours like 8:46 on the AppleVis website? So that VoiceOver does not read: "On Wednesday, October 22, 19:48. I prefer to see it like this: 7:48.
Is there a way to change this?

Thank you.

I think it follows your device settings, try toggling to 12 hour time in date and time settings and see if it makes a difference

I don't think it's based on your device, cause mine is set to 12 hour time and it still shows it as 24 hour time.

Looking at the account section, I know you can set your time zone, but that doesn't solve this problem.

I, personally don't have a problem with 24 hour time.

It's easy enough to get use to once you get the hang of it, plus you don't need to bother with AM and PM.

This doesn’t have anything to do with the settings on your specific device. My phones are both set to 12 hour time but the website still displays in 24 hour time. I think this was done on purpose so that this could be read by everybody all over the world since Apple has worldwide users.

I really enjoy the switch to 24 hour format.
Ok, that's probably because I'm used to 24 hour format and therefore prefer it.
It's interesting to know why this change was implemented though.

Hi Ayub and all,

Thank you as always for the feedback.

AppleVis has always displayed timestamps in 24-hour time, and the default time zone is set to Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). We believe these default settings best meet the needs of a majority of our audience. While not a direct solution to the issue being discussed, users can set their preferred time zone by editing their profile (note that this link will not work if you are not logged in), and we will investigate possibly adding an option to customize time display format. Regardless of any user-configurable options, 24-hour UTC will remain the site's default time format.

I like it as is. if this is added it should be an "option" it should not be changed by default the user should have to change it.

my device is set to 12 hour time but it still shows on the website in 24-hour time. I don't mind though LOL

I have never noticed the clock in all the years I've browsed this site.

I see where we can go and edit our profile, and choose a city to base our own time zone off of, but nothing that indicates 12/24 hour display. Will we ever get that in a future update?

I'm use to 24 hour format. It's not that hard to convert once you get the hang of it. I can convert 12 to 24 and vice versa. All ya gotta do is subtract or add 12 if you wanna convert to 24 hour or convert back to 12 hour in your head. Really. Totally not that hard. All my phones and devices are in 24 hour and I like it that way.
