Rogue keys

Description of App

Rogue Keys is a turn-based, tactical puzzle/strategy game played on a 5×5 grid where every move counts. Survive enemies, manage your limited turns, and unlock mysterious Glyphs that bend the rules of the game in surprising ways. The twist in Rogue Keys is that your powers and upgrades (as well as enemy buffs) are represented by placed keyboard keys on the board tiles. Each run is a battle of wits against the board itself. You’ll need to balance survival, score-chasing, and risk-taking, all while planning around abilities that grow more powerful the longer you play. FEATURES: • Turn-Based Tactics: Every move consumes precious turns; every decision matters. • Keys of Power: Discover and equip 64 unique keys with over 100 game-changing effects and combos. • Stack & Shift Mechanics: Upgrade keys by using the ‘Shift’ key and chain key abilities for unique effects. • High Score Chasing: Bank points strategically or risk losing them forever. Global leaderboards through Game Center. • Endless Replayability: Procedurally generated boards and randomised keys keep every run unique. • Multi-Run: Extend your streak across multiple runs, earn Glyphs, and carry their powers forward until your streak ends. • Seeded Runs: Weekly seeded runs allow you to jump straight into a single run without the set up and test your skills against other players on the same board. • Accessibility: App and gameplay fully supported with Voiceover.

can a podcast of this game be recorded?

Hi, this sounds like such a fun game, but I do have some things I’d like to communicate to the developer. I don’t like that you have to double tap and drag your finger on the screen to place your keys, I use a braille display and do not like having to pick up my phone and read braille with one hand or listen to voiceover just to place for my tiles. if this could be done using the rotor or something that would be amazing. Same with Eldermyth, if you didn’t have to double tap, and hold to move, I feel like I would play that game so much more often.

Super excited for this game, woke up early to play it, but I can't seem to get into a run because I'll place the shift key but it won't stay put so I can't start the run. Also not the biggest fan of having to place the keys yourself, There should be a button that randomly does it for you I think, but I'll deal with that for such a good game. Has anyone else experienced this problem or found a workaround?

Have you tried dragging the shift key on a key that has a secondary action belonging to the shift key? You don't place it on an empty tile, nor above or below, you gotta place it on top. And yeah, I'm not sure I like the way dragging works neither. Also, how do I equipped a key onto a slot? I cannot seem to figure that out. Honestly, if you're gunna make dragging a thing, at least make the feedback more clear maybe with haptics and or a sound and I just heard that the equipment slots are very small making it impossible to find with vo so you're unable to drag a key onto a slot? Honestly, dragging is not what bothers me, but it's the way it's implemented, I'd like an easier way of doing this also. I didn't mind the way cyber cards did this because at least you knew where you were, this, I mean you can tell on the board but it's when you get to the slots, not so much, making it very difficult. I hope I'm missing something with all of this. Also, when and what keys can you drag onto a slot?

How can we have with all the greatest respect just one person testing this and saying we should all play it and enjoy it! Clearly, the original poster did not think outside the box and only thought of dragging! It just seemed silly, why is it all down to one person to test these things, why aren’t more of the blind community involved?

So I am bringing this up to the top to say that I do recall the poster not having an IIOS device to test on which, if you're wanting to make sure that everything works for both platforms, that's a given right but seeing as he may not have one, I do indeed understand what's going on here and quite honestly, not his fault really. You see, screen readers of different platforms work differently and Voiceover may work better than talkback on some UI elements and interfaces or vice versa. With that being said, it's good to note that if you can't test on said platform, allow someone who can and have a few dedicated testers for both I'd say that way a lot of feedback from different people can be given and from then, the dev can figure out the best approach. With that said, I do like the game and even though drag and drop is not the best out there, I do think it can be better and should be approved upon, and I'm talking on IOS. I don't know how talkback handles it or any other android screen reader. I don't have the latest device but I'm hoping to at least get a tablet in the future. All this to say, the game is mostly accessible for the most part. and I say mostly, because some images and elements are not really labeled all that clearly and that's, where the false advertising comes in. For example, when you wanna add a wall to a tile, there are a lot of unlabeled buttons and or images and makes it that much cluttered than it needs to be, especially if they have no use. If they have a use, label that part of the screen. There are also some images that still have some funny labels for example, there's a clock image, which I have no idea what that is and the shard_icon, I know what that is kind of but is there information that is in that image we don't know about? I would give this app a double look over. Voiceover reads most page elements, most buttons are clearly labeled. The app is fully accessible, but the app could be easier to navigate and use. I realize that last one is an opinionated subject because some may find it not quite so but as we're talking about dragging and dropping, and most have issues, figured that would be the best approach, at least for now. I'm not trying to come off as harsh but again, I'd would indeed recommend an IOS device if said person doesn't have one to test with or have testers who can. I look forward to see what's next in this title.
