I have a question from an acquaintance that I haven’t been able to answer.
Is there a better solution than using Telegram’s own iOS app?
We often use braille displays when navigating on our iPhones, and unfortunately, Telegram’s app has too many accessibility issues — from incorrect focus order to missing status messages, which means important information gets lost.
We hope there is a third-party app that offers much better accessibility.
If anyone also knows of an accessible solution for Mac, we would be very happy to hear about it here.

Accessibility
As far as accessibility for iOS, unfortunately there is no anything better for iOS.
When Swiftgram developer was asked to improve accessibility of Telegram the only thing he could do is to make the share sheet accessible.
Also accessibility got even worse in the latest version of Telegram for iOS.
It is not possible to subscribe to the channel with VoiceOver enabled and to cancel voice message recording.
It would be possible to report bugs to their bug tracker but the issue is that bug tracker also has significant accessibility issues.
The bugs that were reported ages ago were never considered and fixed.
As far as MacOS you can try Tweese cake however I haven't used it for ages and don't know if it still works.
Not true
Have a look at this AppleVis thread.

Scriq written for the web version of telegram.
Hi guys someone posted on Applevis with a link written to the script of the web version of telegram.
I use the web version myself and I do like it.
Will try Tweese cake on macOS
Thanks for the tip about Tweese Cake on macOS. I’ll try to take a look at that app solution later.
Safari extention for Telegram on Safari - A Smarter Telegram
This extension works really well. However, I find navigation with my braille display a bit difficult. Still, it’s definitely the best solution I’ve seen for iOS and iPadOS.
script for telegram
Unfortunately this didn’t work for me. We need to keep pressuring Telegram to fix their app. Maybe start a petition listing all the issues. It needs to
be a collaborated effort. It needs to be posted on places like TechVi and Top TechTidbits so it gets traction.
I completely agree
Regarding Telegram accessibility, I completely agree. We need to put up a petition or something, and get it out beyond the blind community. That's probably the only hope of getting the developers to consider fixing accessibility-related issues.
If a petition is ever put up I'll gladly sign it, maybe even share it onto my social feeds :) .
